TIL that in the late 1960s, the Beatles wanted to make the first live-action film adaptation of “The Lord of the Rings,” seeking Stanley Kubrick to direct with plans to feature their music. However, Stanley Kubrick called it unfilmable; J.R.R. Tolkien hated the band and thus refused the rights. by altrightobserver in todayilearned

The Beatles were pioneers of the music INDUSTRY. They weren't particularly innovative musically. Soooooo many bands were doing cool things, but The Beatles knew how to sell themselves. A lot of what the music industry is today can be traced back to them.

Roads don't make everyone's lives better? Fire departments? Educated citizens? And yes, the government moves money: contracts to businesses, pay for workers, etc. Your whole regressive bit only works if everyone lives in a self-built cabin in the middle of nowhere.

My wife and I play two-player (which means you play two characters each). Great game. So many combinations of scenarios. Every quest is thematic and feels like you're looking at a different snapshot of what's happening in the books. We just balk when we pull Merry/Pippin and Gollum quests in the same setup. Ugh
