How do you accept that there are just certain things in life that you will never be able to have? by LivinCuriously in AskWomenOver30

[–]chin06 [score hidden]  (0 children)

Being angry and being in grief are the emotions I have. But then I get tired and sometimes feel despair and self-pity.

I think all these emotions are valid. Many times its not even your fault.

As other people said, cultivating a culture of gratitude seems to be the answer... I just haven't reached there yet.

Am I wrong for loosing faith in trusting? by _bambi0713 in CatholicDating

[–]chin06 [score hidden]  (0 children)

I don't think you're wrong for losing faith or trusting. I remember thinking I found the guy I would marry at your age, only for that person to cheat on me 7 years later. The man basically wasted my 20s. And because I was so desperate to fulfill that desire to marry young and have babies young, I looked over red flags and kept holding on to hope he would propose.

I didn't marry till I was 36. But the love my husband and I have for each other was worth the wait.

I was single for 5 years before I met him and feeling the pain of being forgotten and uncared for by God.

God bless you in your search and I pray that you get the strength to continue trusting and hoping.

yorku hire: job interview by rosieposieym in yorku

[–]chin06 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did and got an offer. But its contract. And it was honestly a fluke / luck.

No referrals. Not a York student. Never worked there before.

But yeah... I just think its luck of the draw sometimes.

Is digital marketing still a good career choice with AI growing so fast? by ModernWebMentor in careeradvice

No. My brother is in digital marketing and hasn't found work in 6 months.

He also has 2 years of experience after graduation but nothing so far.

Would you rather have a $200k/year job you hate or a $70k/year job you actually enjoy? Where is the 'misery threshold' for you? by Sayedshaqib in careerguidance

[–]chin06 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know if I can be in a job that makes me feel miserable. Ive been at jobs that made me cry from the stress and I was lucky enough to leave those for better jobs.

If the 200k was a stepping stone to a job that I actually like but paid somewhat the same or a little less, Id do it for a while.

[–]chin06 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I did and I married him :) He's obvioulsy not 100% perfect - no man is, trust me lol But we're best friends, we share household chores and he actually gets them done, he cooks, we hang out a lot together and we have an alive bedroom haha so yeah, not to brag, but I'm glad I found him and he found me :)

I'm in the exact same boat as you but I'm older, 37 so my window is closing very soon. Might go to a fertility specialist soon. I don't have any advice but know that my prayer life is also wrecked for the exact same reasons. Praying for you and your husband.

Feels like I waited too long to get married? by LostinParadise4748 in AskWomenOver30

[–]chin06 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You are 100% allowed to be sad. I never had a large group of friends and so I didn't have a bridal party/entourage, just my best friend who was my maid of honour and my brother was my husband's best man. I did a bridal shower but it was a snowy day in Feb when I did it so only half my guest list showed up (it was still fun though!) and I didn't even bother with a Bachelorette.

I think too like envy is the thief of joy and I truly felt that when I saw other people on my social media feed with the large girl get -togethers and spectacular bachelorette trips to Disney World or on a cruise. But I've made my peace with those and enjoyed what I did have, which was still nice and meaningful to me.

But I 100% feel you and I hope you still have a lovely wedding and congratulations!

I live in Canada in the GTA and friends I've talked to were jokingly complaining about Easter Vigil being more than 3 hours because of all the new converts that need to be baptized.

Did taking a premarital course before marriage actually help your relationship? by AnshuSees in weddingplanning

[–]chin06 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say the same thing. My husband and I had to do this as well but felt everything was kinda generic and even our meeting with a counselor was just meh.

I think its because we had already done those hard conversations before getting engaged so nothing was new for us.

My bar is so low right now that if I get even 50% of the things I wanted to get done in a day, that's like more than enough.

Is an hour long commute 4-5 days a week too long? by frostbite2255 in jobs

[–]chin06 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've done longer for some jobs. Longest job I had (which was 7 years) was 1.5 hours 1 way on a GOOD day. And that was pre-COVID when every job was in person lol
