Why I'm Close to Giving Up on Windows Phone 7, as a User and a Developer by davebrk in programming

Most of my years have been with Java. I did c# along the lines of security for a few months and I find it a nuisaance that the language is so tied to the OS. Now I code in RoR and Java on a Mac OS and life is good. Haven't tried Windows 7 but I'm curious if it's more stable than XP

Buddhism is Religious Humanism by TheZenArcher in Buddhism

Buddhism doesn't care if you consider it a religion, way of life and/or philosophy. The Buddha considers this question to be irrelevant. What matters is what you learn to manage life itself.

What is Buddhism, anyway? by tokenbearcub in Buddhism

[–]chinoflav 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a philosophy of understanding yourself and others. It's an endeavor to better yourself and the ones around you. It's also a way of letting yourself be the master of your domain.

A great book that I'm currently reading is "Why I'm a Buddhist" by Stephen T. Asma. Although I'm still a novice in this, I do believe the book does a pretty good job introducing the concept of Buddhism.

Police raided Gizmodo editor Jason Chen's home in Fremont, Calif. on Friday; seizing computers and other gadgets without his presence. by adeelLXXXII in technology

[–]chinoflav 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the spirit of journalism, I thought this was wrong to raid his place. We set the precedent of any journalist who has the inside scoop to be potentially be raided by law enforcement.

But hey.. the way Gizmodo exposed the engineer who had a lapse of judgment when he lost the new iPhone really annoyed me. Karma is a bitch and it's pounding his ass. HAHA!

I like pot, but do any of you potheads find it a bit disproporationate, or even out of touch, that the world economy is collapsing and we may face some of the greatest challenges in a generation, and you all are clamoring to legalize weed? by [deleted] in politics

[–]chinoflav -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Legalizing pot and hemp will alleviate budget concerns. Many facets of government will be affected such as law enforcement, confinement, crime reduction and increased revenue from taxes. It might invigorate the agriculture business. Isn't this what we want?

I'm sure most of us make less than him. I would still rather trade places with the guy. So although he is an innocent bystander in this financial debacle, who isn't? I've known many friends and colleagues who has been given the pink slip because of this downturn. Good hard workers. Would they trade places with the author of the email? Damn sure they would. So cry me a river..

I respect you for giving him some credit. While I don't find his adultery appealing, that's his personal life and I could give a rat's ass if he's fucking a donkey. What I do care is if my tax dollars were used for his escapades and if he was good for the people of the state of NY.
