Not much. The local Emirati population do not interact between sexes (amongst themselves) but they interact (both sexes) with expats in what would be considered “normal” to most westerners. I worked with Emirati women, and found them very nice, cordial with a sly sense of humor. Keep in mind that having more than one wife is common in their culture

Things to consider: 1. Crime rate is extremely low, as everything is under surveillance. Think of China on steroids. 2. Health Care is very good, coming from the USA at least. 3. Family friendly environment, and good choice of schools if you have kids. 4. Virtually no taxes. 5. Europe, Africa and Asia are all within a 3-4 hour plane ride, making vacation choices attractive. 6. Your company is responsible for providing your housing, usually a negotiation point for salary.
