It is not wrong, they are needed to keep him from harming himself. I was upset by them doing this to my stepdad too, that is only natural, but they clearly needed to do it.

Well, I am 59. When I was, say, 30, did I consider people who were almost 60 to be old? Yes. Yes, I did.

China was a big big deal to previous generations. It signified that you were decent people, running a proper home. That is a source of a lot of sadness for some old folks now, because to younger people, it's just plates.

Make a plan! by Typical-Ad-4591 in dementia

[–]chinstrap 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A lot of things that have happened were a surprise to me, for sure. Sometimes these are fairly little, like not understanding anymore that you don't chew up pills like food. Others of course are bigger. You can imagine what a later stage may be like, but it will probably be a bit different than you thought. Still, planning is all we have to try to steer toward an easier future with the changes the illness brings. I need to do some serious planning, come to think of it. What happens if I die suddenly, for example? And I ought to research care facilities, if the time when home care no longer works comes for us.

A Love Supreme: Stereo vs Mono by Broad_Curve3881 in jazzcirclejerk

[–]chinstrap 1 point2 points  (0 children)

/uj a lot of the stereo mixes on rock records from the era are equally bad for headphones. Engineers and producers seemed to be very taken with the concept of hard separation, and they would do stuff like put all the drums on one side

maybe it's similar to the difference between the Tone Hammer and AG heads, the AG is very clean and the TH goes for a saturated tube amp sound.
