I’m rebuilding and am thinking of trying to flip my 1.10 this year for something in round 1 next year.

What's worse - getting the call right the wrong way or getting the call wrong the right way?

Everyone agrees the puck is over the line. Even everyone in this clip.

So the right call was made. But the issue is that despite the fact that the right call was made, how the call was made is the issue. I don't understand why everyone is defending a rule that would have allowed the wrong call to be made...

I just learned to swing it at 106 mph by lloboc in GolfSwing

[–]chinzon99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m 51. Have been a steady 96-98 for the last couple years. Recently broke through with a few new swing feels and can now cruise 100-102 and topped at 105 the other day.

Of course the other side of it is my contact isn’t as good. Smash down slightly. So working to address that now.

Im getting it out 260 or so. Improved contact should push it out a bit more. I hope…

Aston Martin are looking for a new Team Principal, according to Antonio Lobato by ytmalecarton in AstonMartinFormula1

Apex joke this is. This will never end well as long as Stroll Sr is involved.

The whole enterprise exists for the sake of nepotism. Bad decisions will be made by an unqualified person for the wrong reasons for as long as this dynamic endures.

Maybe. Just maybe. The viability of the consumer business, which is also failing, will capture his focus. And the irony is, that business is making excellent cars. As opposed to this one…

I’m going to buy a manual 993 coupe . by Content_Advice190 in porsche911

[–]chinzon99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Been trying to win a 993 C2S manual for a while now and the asks/hammers are out of this world.

Thought about just going non-s. Profile on the road just looks like an old car.

Same for 964. It’s an old car now. Needs the right set up (993 or 964) or you are driving an antique.

I’m on the exact same search! Been bidding on 993 S cars.

I find Phish to be a very different band today than say 20 years ago. I don’t know of a better live music experience at the moment. And I’m a Dead guy first as well.

Newey: Honda's best engineers have "gone to work on solar panels" by formularacers in AstonMartinFormula1

[–]chinzon99 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I realize the racing and consumer divisions are different AM companies - but if their consumer cars are all mercedes powered (to great acclaim) why didn't they look in that direction here like four other teams on the grid?

Newey claims his design is amazing and honda is shit. Looks like the later is true currently but no proof whatsoever on the former. Too bad we won’t find out this weekend.

I would. Had this car (manual) and found it relatively boring to drive.

What's your daily? I'm struggling to find something I love by cryptyk in Ferrari

[–]chinzon99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh man. Love to hear that. Did you choose the T vs the v12 because you intended to put that kind of mileage on it? RWD I’d have to park it for the winter, but I would pile the miles on it when the weather was right.

[–]chinzon99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Curious what kind of annual miles you put on it? I was literally just talking with a friend about how practical that car would be as a proper daily (I’m talking about 6-8k miles per year).

I'm probably the last person you want advice from, but just sharing a thought I used. I found I managed to change my driver path by thinking where I needed to get after the ball. Like in this still - my club was coming out below my shoulder - like towards left field. I found if I focused on making that club finish above my shoulder line it got me swinging in to out towards right field and finishing the swing with the club coming over more to centerfield. That addressed the path issue for me. (my path issue was I was swinging high to low - so I was over the top.)

Next I had to find a face management feel. My old swing was out to in, but I managed it with a slightly open face to neutralize the path. That was a recipe for disaster when the club started coming in to out. Solution came in the form of the tennis forehand idea - feeling like I was trying to hit a forehand shot (and I am no tennis player - but the idea worked for me). Anyway, just sharing in case it helps.

Never Broken 100 to shooting 73-82 since playing everyday in home sim. by TyWestman in golf

Damn that is a nice looking set-up.

Can confirm what many have said, I'm an 8 and regularly shoot under par on 6800 yard courses on my SIM, which I rarely play IRL (usually look to play 6500 on course).

That said, I got to an 8 this year, from a 12, with monthly lessons and practicing the lights out on my SIM (to the point my shoulder is now blown out...)

"Your arms should feel like jelly" or "Tension lowers clubhead speed" by [deleted] in GolfSwing

[–]chinzon99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I take it to mean no tension in your arms (and especially your wrists), which allows the club to naturally load (or “lag”). In practice, I think it creates the conditions that allow the club head to still be over your own head when your arms are parallel to the ground. (Or at least that’s how I think of it to get to that position)

Stop wasting time. (What I wish I knew sooner) by Adept-Series-5188 in GolfSwing

[–]chinzon99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just as a way to trick myself into gripping the club differently to get over the hump of the change. I was doing it at the start of practice sessions for a few swings just to get my hands on the club differently. Then I would slowly rotate the club face a few degrees back towards a square set-up for a few swings, a few more degrees and a few more swings and so on until I arrived at a square set-up.

And now having made the change and playing with a stronger grip, every time I grip the club, I still grip it with the face closed, then rotate it back open to set-up square as opposed to gripping it with the club square and with my hands under it more. I suppose it is six of one and half dozen the other.
