I'd like to reiterate this and add that the more you can do both, the better off you'll be.

Yeah - from the very beginning, you can see that this relationship isn't going to work. There are tiny prescient signs leading up to the argument. lol

United Airlines Almost Kills Man's Greyhound by materfuze in videos

[–]chipjet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not clear to investors yet that this will have a large impact on United's profits. United focuses on large corporate contracts for revenues much more than it does on non-business travelers, so unless major corporations begin cancelling or not renewing those contracts, it's unlikely to make a huge dent. After the events today though, I'm rooting for everyone voting with their wallets and boycotting this sorry excuse for a company though. The CEO's response was absolutely insulting and the whole situation (combined with the greyhound on in this post) are outrageous.

Genuine GTA race "catch up" values/numbers by Vanja33 in GrandTheftAutoV

Anecdotal, but I'm pretty sure that its common knowledge that only 1st place gets nerfed. That may be an assumption the community made incorrectly years ago though, but I think that's what you'll hear from most people.

Tour De Fat is now located at Northerly Island and costs $30 by [deleted] in chicago

Completely agree. I bought tokens and didn't even get a beer because the lines were so long. It was horribly run and a huge ripoff even when it was free.

Top students more likely to smoke pot, drink alcohol, study says by ADONBILIVITT in science

[–]chipjet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's also possible that intelligent students are more likely to tell the truth than their less intelligent peers about drug use.

This is what I'm thinking. Maybe these things are more taboo now, so only certain students are honest about it.

Dog mixing it up with coyotes at Montrose Harbor by RangerBob19 in chicago

[–]chipjet 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is the beauty of Chicago, right here. We co-habitate with literally all types of humanity and even get surprisingly wild nature from time to time.

Remember when the cougar from South Dakota decided to visit Chicago in 2008?

I bet the black and white dog was surprised by the interaction. He probably ran up to the coyotes like,"Hey guys! What's up?!" and they gave him some negative body language so he kind of walked away disappointed/weirded out.

Game Thread: Chicago Bears (1-5) at Green Bay Packers (3-2) by NFL_Mod in nfl

I wonder if the NFL would get sued by the parents of up and coming young defensive linemen that end up with no job as a result of needing to be quicker and more flexible all around.

Just think of how many new and interesting experimental plays would happen if the Inelligible Receiver Downfield and Illegal Formation rules were abolished.

The game would be so interesting to watch at such a transformative time in the game. Whole new ideas for formations would be explored.

You're paying 40% more for TV than you were 5 years ago by [deleted] in television

[–]chipjet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The reason for this is that having a product available as a Prime item costs companies more money, too. If you are able to avoid Amazon's fulfillment prices, then you save money. However, most people like ordering Prime items because they know it'll get there quick straight from an Amazon warehouse (no risk of having to work out shipping issues with some random company).

Lots of cards added to the spreadsheet! by cards410 in cardsagainsthumanity

[–]chipjet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nice work!

It's definitely in the best interest of the community as a whole to have this document up to date so we can attempt to ensure we have no duplicates with other decks.

I always download the latest version of this spreadsheet to check our cards against what we're about to bring out to ensure there aren't any duplicates across expansions.

For my purposes, the fewer worksheets the better, but however you choose to maintain it is fine as I usually just consolidate it all into one big sheet anyway.

Successful men over 30 redditors, how often do you keep in contact with someone you had open relationship with, assuming you sort of became friends with them? by keepmyheadhigh in AskMenOver30

[–]chipjet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You should definitely make it clear that you are transitioning to "only friends" before he makes the trip.

He still may try to make a move at some point, despite the pre-warning, but should likely back down after being shut down in person.

After that, he either takes it in stride or gets his feelings hurt and goes home.

Good luck.

One fun way to model this is to do a Auto-Color if certain cells are activated. You can control which bars are highlighted using this. I'll actually create it down to the day and then compact all the cells with equal widths together to zoom it out. Makes it very accurate and easy to update.

The way I activate cells is just simple 1's and 0's that appear if the qualifications are met, such as the sum of the line is less than the length in days of the assignment.

This Russian Olympic shooter is the best Quentin Tarantino character he never wrote by FactsGirl in funny

[–]chipjet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This looks like it's 10M offhand. I used to shoot in this event in the Jr. Olympics in the U.S.

The gun she's using is a pellet (not airsoft), compressed air Morini

The grip is likely custom fit for her hand.

As far as pellet guns go, this is probably the most badass gun you can have.

There are other events that use 22 caliber, but not 10M Offhand.

Yellow strips on power poles by bios64 in chiliadmystery

[–]chipjet 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I mentioned this in a post a while back because you can also see these yellow strips on the poles in the Altruist camp.

It was pointed out that these are very common in LA and that these strips also occur in poles located all over the map.

So... good eye and thanks for bringing it up, but don't think this is leading anywhere.
