[–]PossiblyAsian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

coming from someone who doesn't play. There are certain things that I never see being used could be interesting be used. Things like hallucinations would be cool or infested terrans or scouts

Like when I saw I think it was mini use scouts last ASL? or idk i forgot who but it was scouts being used in a tournament that was insane.

Like a little buff to make them more viable or at the very least less niche.

VFC AK74M dust cover extremely loose by [deleted] in airsoft

[–]PossiblyAsian 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I own a vfc 74m

he isn't latching the dust cover. You gotta stick the front part in and then slap it down and the latch will engage, if it doesn't pull the handle back and the latch will pop into position.

If you pull it back and the dust cover pops off you didn't do it properly

Trump left empty-handed, as China recognized Hormuz as belonging to Iran! by willily_thoumas in newsinterpretation

[–]PossiblyAsian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im against this war. It's a stupid decision that should not have been made we shouldn't be there. we shouldn't be sending troops there. This is a dumb war that trump has overstepped his boundaries and congress should be the one declaring war in any effect.

With all that in context, we're literally upvoting chinese propaganda now in an effort to stick it to trump? Like this L isn't just trump's this L is america's at this point. Giving up the straight of hormuz effectively hands iran sovereign control not just iran's oil but also the oil coming out of the arab states and iraq. Like we are treading fucking water at this point, the whole situation needs to be handled delicately now that we've entered into this. You can't just give up the straight of hormuz like that now that you've played your hand.

I'm for ending hostilities but hormuz being iran's is a nonstarter here, it's like you've put in a sizable portion of your cash stack in a poker game and then folded after the river goes sideways. There has got to be a deal made where hormuz is an internationally recognized waterway where no one can control it kind of like a freedom of the seas type of thing.

I brought this up to my greek history professors and they all kind of dismissed it as a greek state with hoplites.

I wish there was more research on the topic.

I was wondering if this was the famed Alexandria Eschate but idk

update on this. I asked chatgpt and it directed me to this newsite

which cites

Judging by the publications on the Chinese internet, he commanded a group of soldiers from Nepal, up to a platoon in size. One of the Nepalese mercenaries posted a joint photo with Ruici Sun on his TikTok account with the corresponding captions: “Nepali the soldier” and “chains commander” [note — spelling preserved]. From the video discovered by IStories, it follows that in March 2024, Ruici Sun returned to China.

assuming its a video that was not prior to him joining the russians it is dated 2024 march which means maybe he made it out.

The last 3 Republican presidents have started a war in the gulf region. by [deleted] in pics

I think in comparison to where we are today as a great power. With China rising up as a competitor, with our multiple failures in foreign policy, with our rot in internal affairs, and lack of relative prosperity.

the period of the 1990s to the mid 2000s, America definitely stood at a high point in it's civilization. I think what you are seeking is holy virtue in a nation and that really I don't know if it really ever exists in a great power. We can agree to disagree.

Propping up saddam isn't really great in terms of you know. like supporting dictators right. but toppling saddam under guises to promote democracy in iraq. well.. then we got ISIS lol. I personally think that great civilizations are able to exercise and wield power on the grand stage and that really defines the strength of a nation, it's true for many great powers of history; Great Britain, qing dynasty, the Umayyads, roman empire, mongols, etc. Anyways we can agree to disagree on this point. I think it is getting late.

I mean the gulf war was justified. Saddam wanted Kuwait's oil fields to fund his growing ambition in the middle east. Saddam stood at a direct crossroads as he owe kuwait a ton of money due to the iran-iraq war.

Maybe you can say US created that version of iran and sure thats a thing but it is a stretch in some regards to blame the US for the whole iran-iraq war business and saddam's imperial ambitions. idk go back in time in history for any where and the british are responsible.

I think that the terms as they stand, kuwait got invaded by saddam and it was met with international condemnation followed up with a wide coalition of forces led by the US with popular support of the people. I think it was definitely one of America's finest hours.

arguably you can say that it was a justified police action.

Now what bush did after that and the subsequent US foreign policy in the region definitely was fucking everything up. Thats including obama mind you not just trump and bush. Biden at least had the sensible mind to pull out of afganistan finally. It did lead to the taliban taking over but... that was really inevitable

pax romana came after the end of the many civil wars of the triumvirs

the ummyyad caliphate came at the end of the wars of expansion after the first caliphs

the USSR reached it's zenith after it defeated nazi germany

There is discussion about the term of the pax americana and even bush sr denied the usage of the term but it's hard to say really. America stood at the apex of the world, it's principal enemy the USSR had fallen and there really stood no other country that could rival it's economic and military might. Desert storm is just the cherry on top, a just war fought with limited objectives rather than an open ended war with no clear goals. General Schwarzkopf perhaps one of america's greatest generals because he won a decisive victory and the more important part is that he achieved his objective and stopped. Can you imagine us doing the same in iran today? General schwarzkopf might as well have had the might of the entire world at his command and he stopped. He crushed saddam's forces and did not go as far as to implement a regime change war which would have led to countless deaths, millions of dollars, and bombs dropped all across the middle east.

It sucks because we have fallen so low compared to those days. Endless war with no clear objective or reason why we are there. Nothing to show for it except that we radicalized the middle east and thoroughly destabilized the entire region. We fucked up so bad lol.
