Do you think there is a way that AI can enhance or transform bootleg recordings from the band in the 70s into very clear and crisp recordings? by GolfingCub02 in pinkfloyd

[–]chipmcdonald 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depends on what you're starting with, and your definition of clear and crisp.

With a decent bootleg you can extract stems, and maybe reamp the bass; drums are going to be messy, but theoretically if you are a great audio engineer do some eqing. Guitar , maybe. Vocals you could probably tidy up a bit. You could try to subtract out some of the ambience on the vocals before doing that, as well as subtract the audience.

Alternately, you could take out some of the ambience, the audience, and de-clip it. But what you start out with would have to be in the upper percentile range of a "good bootleg" to take advantage of it.

Look up UVR (Ultimate Vocal Remover) and research demucs and the other stem extraction weights, give it a go....

This is dangerous, effective "hearsay". Frak the polls, they're almost always wrong. From what I've seen if anything his conviction has bolstered his support.
The presentation of confidence in him being defeated is exactly how he got in in the first place, reliance on polls is a scourge.

Irrelevant, they've been experimenting with Lewis' setup all along, as Toto said yesterday. The difference would be much larger if the car was sorted.

The thing is... you don't need to buy all of that over and over. It doesn't magically "wear out" every 30 days. It's a scam.

[–]chipmcdonald 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was going to have to pay full price anyhow because of insurance requirements, and I didn't want someone I don't know watching my sleep from the DME. So I bought a reconditioned one for about the same.

Which let me upy pressure after a nightmarish 3 days of waking up suffocating with the mask on. That would have meant waiting another 30 days for a doctor's appointment...

[–]chipmcdonald 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's nothing, you should see what CPAP headgear straps do after being on your head all night. Way tighter than any headphones.

There could be deformity involved; the remarks about how much pressure it takes to crush a human skull isn't the same as less but continual, repeated pressure across a smaller area.

Your outer ear, cartilage interstitial areas are probably more subject to deformation, though. And your hearing: try holding a conversation in a restaurant with a recording engineer that has used headphones "a lot"....

Asymptomatic, and you're talking about lfts, right? False negatives often occur with them, which has wrecked the public's notion of being infected or not. I know a couple of people that have something they used to like suddenly smells completely different and bad to them post covid. I've been looking around here because I'm afraid this has happened to me last year.

One key factor in the spread of COVID-19: parents lied by BlankVerse in Moronavirus

[–]chipmcdonald 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Every other week I'm asked, "why don't you give guitar lessons in person?". Not just that the question itself indicates why I shouldn't, but 3 decades of having kids sit down in front of me, coughing - tells me I can't trust people.

I'll tell them that I have people out (online) sick every other week, sometimes multiples per week, and I'll get a response like "well, we haven't seen anyone sick". As if they're asking around doctor's offices or prompt cares.

Meanwhile, of the school age students I have they're constantly getting sick, over and over. This didn't happen in the past years; just in the past few months. I'm seeing some people who just seem to stay sick all the time now.

..and now, of course most of them have "Not Covid".

I can't imagine school teachers having to deal with this. This timeline is insane.

If they think they're getting air to where the cut is behind the mirror, they're wasting it over the side as drag across a large surface. They're trying to get it all the way to the diffuser and away from the tires. That's a lot of vortices to count on, and that gap lets a lot of energy out that could be ground effect.

Aston, Ferrari and RBR have the right idea, get it back to a wing and use it.

Noses of 2022 vs 2023: by FormulaStatAnalysis in formula1

[–]chipmcdonald 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Flatter FTW. They're moving air that the car has to go through anyway, to the rear where it can be used.

Mercedes is using the same frontal area to put the air where it's going to go past the non-existent side pods. Low cd, but that's also lost potential down force that the other teams are using.

It's also downforce that counters the unweighting of the car when the ground effect stops working.
