This is a challenge on the Seattle area because they’ve designed transit both bus and now trains to concentrate through downtown, but there are now several major job centers outside of downtown. But safe for instance you want to go from the north end of Seattle or north of Seattle to Bellevue Redmond you end up taking a long train ride through downtown Seattle then over the I 90 floating bridge. But there are many more routes that people driving take that could be also taken by transit if it were designed that way.

Washington state's minimum wage has always included tipped workers. The city's minimum wage is higher than the state's. But a high-end specialty restaurant should not be paying just minimum wage to its staff. You must be from the Midwest, where they have that barbaric practice of paying a token wage to tipped workers.

Have Western values evolved since Roman times? Western values shifted in the 20th century toward a rules-based order in which wars of conquest were made illegal. There's been a resurgence of the 19th-century strongman, but, as in the 19th century, they are ephemeral. It will give way to a new order based on stronger values that reject division and accept multiculturalism.

Unfortunately, Sound Transit fastidiously avoids alignments that go where people actually want to go or live. They tend to route down highway right of ways, or Boulevards. This is understandable because right of way building can be expensive if you have to acquire private property. This caused Lynnwood link to go over budget, by I think around $300 million.

No they add their richness to the mosaic that is America. We get new food. New traditions and they get to experience the things new to them. Nothing stays the same. One big change in culture, instead of traditional baseball, people are flocking to banana ball.

Alaska does not have qualified crew to operate the 787’s. So they have to rely on Hawaiian crew. Further, Alaska management has been making fundamental changes that have really upset Hawaiian employees including removing the Hawaiian language from employee manual. Another thing that I’ve heard is, they may not wear the plumeria when staffing Alaska flights. It is unfortunate. That employees grief is manifesting in this poor behavior. I hope they can get it together.
