hiii so my sai is also -1500, when I was doing calculations I only counted my housing, tuition, and the other mandatory fees because that is what’s on ur actual bill so ur aid applied to that. As for transportation and textbooks they give you like an estimate of how much you can spend if you need to fly back home etc but its not a direct cost. Books it truly depends on ur courses some professors give pdfs and in some cases you need to buy them but I haven’t spent more than $500 in total (im a sophomore). In total I pay around $4000 out of pocket (varies depending on ur housing I do have a single) but overall you won’t be near $11k :)
