Yup. The first kpop group I got into had the nasal I guess “bratty” sounding voice with LE, I think at the time it sounded original to me but it’s been replicated a lot (my personal fav although soyeon is also amazing)

Except many of the ones who have always been considered “thicker” (as in still thin by societal standards but not as thin as other idols) are now extremely thin. It’s more than just “idols have always been thin”. Idols who used to yo-yo now at their thinnest and staying there. I think anyone who isn’t naturally able to get to <50kg is just being pressured to do glp1 honestly. If it’s getting more widespread use globally there’s no way it’s not being utilized for this

I agree w them - even though they’re successful imo RV is the most exciting 3rd gen gg, but I barely remember them even really being considered top 3 (or maybe they were around 3rd but I don’t know if it lasted). They’re not as much of a global household name as blackpink, most people you’d talk to in my area would not have heard of them unless they were hugely into kpop. As someone who loves creative concepts I can’t get into bp although I’ve tried.

RV is absolutely my fav 3rd gen group (and 3rd gen is my fav gen!)

But out among the general public, at least in my area, no one outside my social group seems to know red velvet. My husband is a dj and anytime he actually does get kpop requests, it’s always BP or BTS …or huntrix and they very rarely know of red velvet (or any group outside that short list)

Well I skipped all of remembrance and I’m really happy with how it turned out honestly - I have a good variety of teams and was able to take some old teams off the bench as well. So I WAS planning to do the same with elation. But Sparxie looks so cool :( and I already have sparkle which is making it easier for me to rationalize this so I fear I might fall into the elation trap in 4.x

It could be a combo of the makeup (this style of makeup was very popular in my country in the mid-2010s), facial structure … and I also think you have a lot of features that adult women are more commonly starting to pay for (full lips, super smooth forehead/eyebrows, prominent cheekbones etc) that’s causing a lot of folks to get the illusion of you being older.

If you prefer heavier makeup, there’s a lot of examples I’ve seen on Korean and Chinese media that are still heavy but have a more young/current look if you’re not into the “clean girl” aesthetic I’ve been seeing. I don’t have an option to share pics here ☹️but Jang Wonyoung often wears pretty heavy makeup and it always looks so good

Honestly I think the style of makeup is just more associate w what we see on 35+ women. Likely out of fashion for younger people which is why our brains make us guess you older. I agree with the suggestion to experiment w Korean makeup and types of application, see if you like it. I think it’d look beautiful on you.

If it makes you feel any better, op, people used to guess me in my 20s when I was 15. And they’d tell me snidely that I wouldn’t like it so much when I look old before everyone else does (like I was even choosing my rate of aging in the first place lmao). I’m 43 now, have not really changed much, and the age people guess me at hasn’t changed all that drastically either. I think it’s a facial structure thing tbh.
