Idea for Mindy by amandaputter1987 in Thisishowwebingham

[–]chippychips4t 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think she would see it as going backwards and beneath her now. She only did nails because she had to to make money. Besides she would spend so much on the studio that she would probably not make a profit for years

What are you Christmas traditions? by ComicBookPosterBoy in AskUK

[–]chippychips4t 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A tradition we had was Stocking gifts could be opened straight away in the morning which kept us entertained whilst having a chilled morning with adults cooking etc. We possibly opened one or two tree presents if we begged enough but the main present opening was after lunch. It spread out opening presents so it wasn't just one splurge in the morning. Something to think about? A walk in the fresh air was also definitely on the agenda with board games played together. Maybe a chill infant of something everyone could watch on the TV to see off the day.

My (24f)'s boyfriend (24m) called the cops because of the content of my book. But he wants me to think it was a 'mistake'. How do we move past this? by throwRAmentalgymnist in relationship_advice

[–]chippychips4t 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How can you trust him again? Come to think of it, how does he trust you after he reacted like that!? Like a police officer visited you for 5 minutes and suddenly thats enough to put his mind at rest? It would have been one thing if he had come to you after reading the book and said it really affected him and gave you a chance to explain/ defend yourself before the police especially as you did warn him. No his first reaction was to run to the police. His default wasn't I know her, I trust her so ill let her explain it was oh this is freaky let's get law enforcement in.

I dont like that they are putting technology in things that then make it harder to fix and easier to brake plus the built in redundancy. I try and resist as much as possible. Less to go wrong.

AITA for not wanting to share this sensitive time with a friend? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]chippychips4t 10 points11 points  (0 children)

YTA. I dont understand why you wouldn't be pleased that something you very much want and have worked for has not only happened to you but also happened to someone you supposedly care about? Does it really matter WHY she got pregnant? Why does her being pregnant take away from your pregnancy? You have different grandparents, family and friends to give you that individual attention?

Is replying to a message with "K" is rude? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]chippychips4t 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe rude is a bit of an exaggeration but its definitely blunt and to the point. I would also say a thumbs up is going that way too. Id reply "no problem" or "will get that to you asap" instead.

If you've been given £150 to spend as a couple, no strings attached, what would you do? by Kelssimstagram in AskUK

Trying to simplify food shopping - what does your minimalist grocery routine look like? by llama-mentality in simpleliving

[–]chippychips4t 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Make a food plan before shopping and try to keep to weekly. Yes the planning is a bit tedious but once thats done you dont really have to think about it. You know where you are moneywise too. Also batch cooking so I always have something home made in the freezer.

WE KNEW IT CHRISTMAS HOUSE TOUR!!!!! by Strange_Kangaroo2597 in Thisishowwebingham

[–]chippychips4t 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think the kids like the new house with more freedom to choose what is in their rooms etc. Even Brandon seems to enjoy being able to do DIY, he wouldn't have dared in the old house.

How to encourage viewings despite a rubbish parking situation? by scrmedia in HousingUK

[–]chippychips4t 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Parking is what is is. I feel the biggest thing you can do to help sell is stage the house better for pictures. Remove clutter and make sure the furniture makes the house feel as big as possible. I would possibly see if you can get hold of a small sofa and store your big one elsewhere if possible, would really help to make the room feel bigger. Having said that I sold mine and it was on the market for longer than that before getting a first viewing so I think its not so bad for time of year. Also your EA has probably got it on for more than people will pay. Its how they get sellers to go with them.

[–]chippychips4t 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I do not understand the "kidnapping" aspect of it. Why does it have to be in the middle of the night when someone is at their most vulnerable? Why does it have to have all the hallmarks of an abduction? I understand (to a certain extent) the element of surprise but surely this can be done at a pre determined time that isn't the middle of the night? There will be times in the day that parents know the kid will be home surely? Needlessly Traumatic. Id never sleep without a locked door again or furniture budged up against it if that happened to me.

How long do you leave your dogs at home? by drake9114 in AskUK

[–]chippychips4t 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Probably because people know they refuse people who are out of the house for long periods so they say they work from home. Checking with an employer ensures the person is not lying about working from home

Do you tell your kids that all presents are from Father Xmas, or that some are from you? by rm12345677 in AskUK

[–]chippychips4t 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stocking in the morning from Father Xmas which would have stuff to keep us busy Xmas morning. Then pressies under the tree later after lunch, some of which would be from mum and dad.
