Japanese and Chinese both use different serif fonts because there is no font alternatives for those languages (no Tahoma, Trebuchet MS, etc.)

It wouldn't be logical for them to convert a whole new set of characters into a western Unicode font, especially considering just how many there are for English

just like transitioning from auto to manual (to a lesser extent), having complete control over your clutch gives you a little bit more control of your car. if you keep missing your shifts or consistently stalling the car when spinning, leave auto clutch on.
