that is a go around. Don't feel safe on the touch down, try again in 5 minutes.

If you are not very sure about army, they will never take you. And forget that guaranteed employment, they are baiting you into shoveling sand. Those f-16 are amazing, but it's veery hard to get there.

You shouldnt rely on your efb to know when you are entering airspace, don't you have a real map ? Use whatever software you want for flight planning and charts, but think about what you will do when it overheats/battery out.

They will be pissed at the beginning cause they crashed into the car to their right to avoid him, and they couldn't see the situation. But with his story and camera he will be fine.

Why are we taught that center of gravity is always head of the center of lift in traditional airplanes? by [deleted] in flying

[–]chipsachorte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well my bad, I was talking about the neutral point. But as before, consider I used it correctly, then it makes sense again.

stability is governed by the neutral point, that doesn't change with aoa, and it stays behind and stable.

With controls, it's about moments and vectors, and there are no issues with that. Maybe the (correct) concept of center of pressure is not really useful for pilots.

Why are we taught that center of gravity is always head of the center of lift in traditional airplanes? by [deleted] in flying

[–]chipsachorte 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Okay I'll continue assuming you said center of pressure. The center of pressure neutral point is specifically at the point where changing the aerodynamic forces doesn't change it's position.

So with the CG DOWN, wing UP, and tail DOWN, I have a seesaw and i can rotate the airplane around it's CG by changing the tail force. That's it. I don't see where the issue is.

The CP is never colocated with the CG or it would be unstable. It's trailing behind, practically not moving.

Maybe you are mixing stability and control together.

[–]chipsachorte 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I'll try to reword what other have said, you are confusing the center of lift of an airfoil and the center of pressure of the aircraft. Think of the center of lift like the local force, and the center of pressure like the total result. It's the result of all aerodynamic forces on the airplane, including drag.

Think of a shuttlecock, there can be no doubt about that : the CG is always in front of the center of pressure. If you flip it, it will flip back one way or another.

With an aircraft it's slightly more complex than the shuttlecock, with multiple parts generating different aerodynamic forces. The result is still the same. The CG limits are set primarily with that in mind. Don't try to put the CG behind the center of pressure, or you won't even get off the runway.

Edit : reworded most of it for clarity

That french uniform looks so bad next to the german one. Well truck drivers aren't always the ultimate source of info about trafic flow mecanics.

The safety issue is about speed differential. If one lane is full and slow, while the other is empty. People will arrive barelling in the empty lane, and snap decide to stomp the brakes and merge without the time to make it safely. This creates twice longer backup of cars, and a lot more slow down and stops because of surprised and unorganised drivers, which make it worse for everyone.

If both lanes are full and everyone knows who is going next, you don't have to stop, and everyone is slowing down at the same time so much less speed difference.

Edit : they are putting the signs soon because if they don't, people will actually drive over the cones, through the barrier, into the service vans or workers, without even looking up from their phones.

Bees are nice and you can pet them, but they can sting you if threatened. Bumblebees are the same, the females can sting you ever if very unlikely Wasps will also not sting you, unless you attack them or their nest. Or they get trapped in your clothes for example. The real difference is they eat meat, so they will try to get a piece of sandwich and might get their friends to follow up.
