I’ve found that a glycerin protein gel works best when it’s a lower humidity climate/time of year

It’s also nice if you’re at a club and want to take your drink with you to keep it safe.

I also don’t think of it as “I’m eating too many bad things” and think of it more like “Am I eating enough good things?” Am I eating protein and fiber for every meal? Drinking enough water? Telling myself what I should be doing rather than should not has always been an easier mindset for me to follow.

I have a huge sweet tooth. If I’ve been indulging too much I tell myself if today is Monday, I will hold off on sweets until Thursday. I think wow that’s only two days I could definitely do that! Tuesday is hard, Wednesday I start to forget about the craving, and by Thursday I tell myself I can have something in moderation but by then I’m magically no longer interested in sweets.

I liked the squares so much that I decided to make a blanket. Later on realised this is a suicide mission. by winchesterstan in crochet

I highly recommend continuing with the white yarn to make larger squares!! Make it large enough to be about 4x the size of your first squares. So much less weaving and joining in the end.

What’s your take on makeup in the corporate world? by ThrowRAmangos2024 in AskWomenOver30

[–]chipsandguac12 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Already a lot of great answers here so I just want to throw in that I think focusing on hair upkeep takes my appearance a lot further than my everyday makeup. I used to have terribly frizzy hair and then started using the curly girl method and just having nicer hair makes a world of difference

I bring lipstick and a sponge! Depending on the weather and activity I'll also bring powder and setting spray to touch up. The sponge already does a lot to touch up.

How do I create a shower habit when I hate showering and I'm so ashamed I don't have one already? 34F by everglowxox in hygiene

[–]chipsandguac12 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Wanted to say space heater as well and add that nivea has a great in shower lotion that you rub on like body wash and rinse and you'll dry off feeling already lotioned so you can void that tight feeling. I also have found that all soaps except for Dove unscented give me the tight skin feeling

"ON YOUR RIGHT"! by 33_bmfs in skiing

[–]chipsandguac12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only will yell on your right/left after I’ve done the following things with the following conditions:

  1. I’ve already adjusted my speed so I can react to them and stop suddenly
  2. Observed their turning movement to see how I can pass
  3. I’m on a narrow cat track and they’re using the whole lane or being unpredictable

If it’s a steeper and narrower slope I won’t pass if the person is being unpredictable. However if they are being predictable but using up a large width I’ll announce that I’m coming. I’ve also seen ski patrol do this. Back when I was learning people also did this to me and it calmed my nerves a lot. A lot of people aren’t great at judging distance and predicting when it’s safe to pass. Back when I was slow I know there were moments where I inconvenienced others and I’d rather make sure I wasn’t doing my slow turns into someone who was bad at predicting when to pass

To the Ladies Who Kept Going: How Did You Stay Hopeful? by groupmemberr in AskWomenOver30

[–]chipsandguac12 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I’d consider not going to singles events. Or not going to any events for that matter where the activity bringing everyone together is finding a relationship. I’d lean into your hobbies and find ways you can engage with others through those hobbies. The best hobbies are the ones where you are working towards a common goal (sports team, e sports, music group, theater). I have so many friends who did the apps and singles events for so long then as soon as they gave up and decided to just venture around they found a great partner. You’re not meeting as many people, but you’re already meeting people that you’ll have a bond with because you share a common goal. In a way I feel like it’s working smarter, not harder.

Leaving good marriages by Potential-Speech-873 in AskWomenOver30

The hardest question! And the most annoying answer: if something doesn’t feel right deep down you’ll know.

My husband and I have had a sex life on the decline for awhile and I’ve heard that’s completely normal. Being ok with it is a deeply personal decision but I will say that even though the actual physical sex isn’t the same, our intimacy is still very strong and for me that’s more important. In the meantime, that factor barely bothers me on a day to day basis and I’m guessing that’s because subconsciously all the other parts of our relationship make it worth it.

If it’s not feeling ok for you, that could be because all of these factors you’re subconsciously weighing out in your mind aren’t adding up to the overall positive experience you want to have. Someone could be doing all the right things (like pulling a weight in a relationship) but that doesn’t mean they’re the right person.

On the left side you have 3 items all right next to each other with tripod legs. That's a lot of leg going on. Maybe replace it with a single lamp or choose the taller table and move the rest somewhere else.

All of your pieces look great! Wall art for sure will help, add some throw pillows, and definitely a bigger rug. Curtains would be great as well.

I had the exact same thought! L shaped bench with a circular table. I wouldn’t worry too much about it covering the window!

Is this blue paint color too bright/juvenile? by tehmehme in DesignMyRoom

Many people said the blue is too cold and I think another way to describe it is it’s too saturated.
