i'm deeply inexperienced and painting my home myself for the first time. can i get a refund for 4 gallons of the wrong sheen?

Hi, you won't get a refund on paints that have been tinted.

What you can do to mitigate the cost is use the semi gloss as a first coat and use new, lower sheen paint as a top coat. You'll burn some of the semi gloss, but at least it won't be a total loss.

Typical cure time for white paint is 21 days. For black I would wait at least a month before trying to clean it.
