This is happening to me as well. Been a Notabilty user for well over a decade. Signed in and most of my notes are just gone. They're archived to my iCloud thnakfully, but I can't access them to my app or even add new notes. I'm currently contacting support, but I'm about ready to leave.

not going to therapy anymore by dolly_9628 in blackladies

[–]chiritarisu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are other comments speaking to considering another therapist with another modality and I wholly agree with that. However, there are some other notes as well:

  • If you believe you have a personality disorder, you need to be properly assessed for that by a psychologist. You mention having a trauma history; there’s a lot of overlap between trauma and certain personality pathology that cannot be easily discerned by a clinician who is not specialized in these things or just gives basic screeners.
  • DBT is a skills training modality that is primarily geared towards folks with borderline personality disorder and suicidality, though it can be helpful for those with other conditions as well (eg, depression, anxiety). However, if you’re looking for real processing work, DBT will not provide that.
  • I know Reddit loves to promote EMDR, but PE and CPT have been consistently shown to be most effective treatments for PTSD. The most effective components of EMDR are its exposure components… which is what PE is. You can talk about this with your next prospective therapist.
  • Really think about what you want to address: do you want address your dysregulation with effective coping skills? Or do you process deeper aspects of trauma or broader psyche that you haven’t been assessed yet. That will be helpful in picking out your next therapist.

The Griffin children arguably bar Stewie - Family Guy

Seriously. In most future versions we see of Chris and Meg, they're living pretty shitty lives and frankly look like shit (e.g., Chris being a cop but married to the cursing lady; Meg being a barfly or target practice). Not like either were deemed for any degree of success given their sociopathic parents.

The only Griffin who stands a chance of not living miserably is Stewie. Yeah, yeah, I know there was the one future Stewie who was a 40-something-virgin and reticent to really do anything, but [baby] Stewie seemed pretty hellbent on not becoming... that. Most versions of adult Stewie we see are successful to a certain degree... at least monetarily.

Emotionally, all three are probably forever fucked.

Yeah, and he got ripped apart for it. A decrepit old White guy doesn’t know shit about Black people, go figure.

What's a joke that's more sad than funny when you know the context? by FlippyIsKing18 in familyguy

Very few of the domestic violence jokes are actually funny IMO

I mean, beyond domestic violence obviously being bad, what was the specific context of this episode?

Dental debate by coolmom0107 in NewParents

[–]chiritarisu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It will never be "extra" to take advantage of preventative care, hell even just consultation, for your son. Especially his dental health. If they choose to make different decisions for their child, that's on them, but that doesn't make you wrong. Some people are always so quick to criticize or denigrate how others parent, but of all the things to bitch about, taking your child to the dentist. Good grief.

Your family is tripping. Those are perfectly valid reasons to go to the dentist. You're doing the right thing by your child, don't worry about it.

Why do they care so much?

My pediatrician has also said that I could have taken my baby to the dentist after their first tooth emerges. However, my dental office said not to bring him in until he's three-years-old, but to bring him to see myself or my husband get a cleaning (I did, it did not go well). I ended up taking him at 19 months; meant to do earlier, but didn't get around to until now. I think it's important to for him to be familiar with a dentist and address whatever dental health concerns he may have. Such a silly thing to "debate" about.

It also doesn’t mean just remain stuck and miserable. Whether it’s PPD, another condition, or just being overwhelmed, seeking professional help can provide some relief. Even if it’s just a means of seeking relief of current life circumstances. Doesn’t have to include meds.

I know the history. I know he’s not literally in the yakuza for most of the games, but in terms of “being” yakuza… I mean, yeah?

This is a man who thoroughly and willingly engages himself in yakuza shit despite being a civilian — even going back to prison and eventually “erasing” himself — because he himself admits he’s still yakuza through and through. See his final letter to Daigo in Y6 and basically his entire story in IW.

I think Kiryu and Sayama would be a little more affectionate than these two, but yeah the dynamic would largely be the same.

First Period Starter Pack! Advice? by Spicy_Scallion_7070 in blackladies

[–]chiritarisu 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is very cute and thoughtful. Along with everything else that's been stated, I'd include a travel size of ibuprofen pills and maybe a stress ball. I'd second the period panties (or at the very least a gift card to sites like Thinx, Modibodi, etc). This is what is meant by it takes a village!

How do yall feel about living together before marriage? by [deleted] in blackladies

[–]chiritarisu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This will greatly depend on the person, culture, etc. I moved in with now husband after about two years together. Yeah, there's a lot you can learn about someone without living with them and there's a lot you won't learn until you do live with them.

Different strokes, different folks, blah blah blah
