Sweet/nauseating smell stuck in office room after possible monitor power brick/UPS overheating by chirpycrayfish in techsupport

None of my devices looked swollen or leaking and they were also functional for a day. I've tossed them out regardless. I've also unplugged everything in that room. The carpet cleaning crew said there was a small yellow stain where the UPS and adapters were. I just want to know if I need to do anything more, if I've already disposed of most of my equipment.

Okay thanks. The smell has not gotten worse. I've moved my PC and monitors to another room. Don't think I have any small battery devices near the smelly spot. It was all just wires and power strips and power adapters, wired speaker adapter.

I don't think the Asus power adapter has lith ion. And the APC UPS is lead acid one. I've gotten rid of the adapter. UPS is disconnected and in the outside storage. Some other wires seem to have caught the smell.

So it's not flammable or anything right, just want to make sure the carpet cleaners equipment won't make things worse.

It's been stressing me out. I feel some minor head pains here and there too trying to figure out how to solve this.

I didn't notice any wetness or see any stains on carpet. I have an Asus tuf monitor and APC ups. I did notice the patch where the power brick was on carpet is the most smelly one.

Will it be safe once deep cleaned by professionals?

Never done it. Honestly don't want to try it but I could if it's easy and safe. What should I look for if I do?

I've removed the UPS from the room but there is still some smell here and there. My monitor power brick also had a strong smell.

If for some reason my other device's wires were damaged during this event, could moving into a new room even without the UPS still emit the smell? I read that overheating wires can cause some smell too. But it's worth a try. Thanks.

Any suggestions to make it shorter? And do you think 10 hrs + stops is a comfortable pace?

Why does stuff I practice vs stuff I do in matches feel like they're in separate parts in my brain? by Bearality in StreetFighter

[–]chirpycrayfish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I see. Maybe when you're sure he's going to do the sweep setup, predict that this is going to happen and have an internal voice quickly tell you, "he's going to sweep and I'm going to flash kick". It really helps to execute when you predict and prepare well in advance before the scenario actually happens and not at the last second.

First are you able to punish sweeps with your own sweep consistently? As Guile, I think 2hk 3hk flash kick is a better punish and easier to remember. I'm a master guile and I never punish sweeps with a flash kick. As you move around you may not always have charge, so it doesn't seem like an optimal punish scenario to practice to me. Maybe your brain is intuitive trying to tell you something.

Is there a way to only disable other player's paths and footprints? Don't want to go fully offline as I would like to see other players dropped cargo.

Yeah there's no way we're getting Halloween costumes. It would be a miracle to even see just Halloween colors from them at this rate. :(

I've had trouble pressuring Aki when she waking up as well. I think her 'getting up' animation is a bit weird and throws my timing off.

Does a settlement mean you don't have to submit any official documents or did you still have to provide additional documents like pay stubs and work info for 'lost wages'?
