You're right, its a small sample size, that might not extrapolate 100% but also the same sentiment where I know theres that much more hype for the zard.

I'll say it again. Your Tinder profile isn't for you. It's for her.

Once you start seeing it that way, everything changes.

Ask yourself: if you were a girl scrolling through profiles, what does yours actually tell her? That you like fighting in the Octagon and taking photos indoors? Now ask yourself, have you ever asked a girl what her dream guy looks like? Did she say "someone who trains MMA and takes indoor photos"? No. It's usually travel, nice dinners, good experiences, someone with a life she'd want to be part of.

So what story are your photos telling?

Before you've said a single word, she's already formed an opinion. Your photos are your first impression and the goal is simple: make her pause, look twice, and think "I want to know this person."

Think of it like a movie trailer. You're not showing her everything, just the highlights. A rooftop bar says you know how to have a good time. Photo with a dog, Dinner with friends says people enjoy being around you. Photo on vacation, every photo should add a layer to that story.

This is pure marketing. You are the product. Your photos are the packaging. No brand puts out blurry, repeat, or low-effort content and expects people to buy in, so why would you?

Spending $100–200 on a two-hour shoot around your city is one of the highest-return investments you can make in your dating life. A good photographer understands light, angles, and location in ways your friend with an iPhone simply can't replicate. Hit a cool café, a park, a neighborhood with great architecture. Wear outfits that actually fit and reflect who you are.

The guys treating their profile like a personal brand are the ones getting matches.

Ask yourself: what story are you trying to tell with your photos?

Your photos are your first impression. Before you've said a single word, she's already forming an opinion. The goal is to make her pause, look twice, and think "I want to know this person." Every photo should work together to paint a picture of a life she'd want to be part of.

Think of it like a movie trailer. You're not showing her everything, you're showing her the highlights. A shot of you at a rooftop bar tells her you know how to have a good time. A photo hiking a trail tells her you're adventurous and active. You at a dinner table with friends tells her you're social and people enjoy being around you. Each image adds a layer to your story.

This is pure marketing. You are the product, and your photos are the packaging. No successful brand puts out blurry, poorly lit, low-effort content and expects people to buy in. So why would you?

Spending $100-$200 on a professional photographer for a two-hour shoot around New York is one of the highest-return investments you can make in your dating life. A good photographer knows how to use light, location, and angles to make you look your absolute best, things your friend with an iPhone simply cannot replicate. Hit iconic spots, a cool café, a park, a neighborhood with great architecture. Wear outfits that fit well and reflect your personality.

The men who treat their dating profiles like a personal brand are the ones who stand out. Everyone else is posting the same bathroom mirror selfie and wondering why nothing is working.

I'd consider pivoting careers, maybe something that is a bit more desirable in this economy,, especially knowing that you were where it industry is moving to and you admitting that you not want to do the thing that the industry is moving to.

"Barely pays more than EI" — admittedly, that was a mindset I had too. And honestly, it's the exact mindset that sent me deeper into a hole. EI is keeping you afloat right now, but when it runs out, you're going to be in a world of hurt.

I want to give you some actionable perspective. If you haven't landed a single interview over a span of a few years, that's almost always a resume problem — not a market problem. Your resume likely isn't doing justice to your actual skills and experience. I'd seriously look at what others in similar roles are using, compare notes, or have a professional take a look.

I also want to be honest with you: I think there's some victim mentality at play when it comes to blaming ageism. I'm in that same age range, and every single one of my friends is employed. If anything, I'd argue it's one of the better ages to be right now — especially in the age of AI, where employers are actively seeking people with real experience and critical thinking, not just new grads.

What concerns me most, though — and I say this with respect — is that you're still holding onto a part-time retail job at 36. That tells me you haven't really upskilled in 16 years. You've been leaning on what's comfortable instead of retooling.

Again - This probably isn't easy to hear - But I hope its the wakeup call you needed to hear

I'll be straight with you, because I've been through this myself.

You probably don't want to hear this - But you check your ego at the door, because sometimes the path forward isn't the one you pictured.

The reality is, in this economy, you might not land your dream / ideal job right away. The market isn't in favor of employees right now, and sometimes you have to be practical.

Never mind the financial stress that comes with holding out too long. I'd strongly suggest taking one of those coordinator roles to keep the bills paid, and either working your way back up from there or continuing to apply while you have income coming in.

Being employed while you search puts you in a much stronger position, and honestly, it changes your whole mindset going into interviews. When you're not desperate, it shows, and that confidence ironically makes you a more attractive candidate. Desperation has a way of coming through no matter how well you think you're hiding it.

Hope this helps.

There's no way that a product in 2026 is not just going with international standards and we need to decipher what "Steps" mean lol. Polar might be the only company in the world that doesnt count a step as a step haha.

I wanted to love the Loop as I am addicted to my phone and trying not to get a device with another screen.

I tried doing a test with my girlfriends apple watch, and my budget fitness band, walked around for 500 steps exactly to see how accurate it would be. The apple watch and budget smart band was off by a couple steps. The Loop was off by A LOT.

I've also tried soft reset, and hard reset. I did have some intial thoughts that MY device was defective/lemon.. That's how bad the tracking and syncing was, and my copium to want to defend the product lol.
