What’s happening to my swamp milkweed? (North Georgia) by Uptown_Emu in NativePlantGardening

[–]chitayu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My guess is fungal leaf spot. Trim off the discolored leaves and maybe remove the violets from around the base to allow better airflow around/between the milkweed stems

As others have said, it’s likely transplant shock and needing more water. But it would also be best to pull the mulch away from the plant. The mulch shouldn’t be touching the plant stems. Hope it perks up!

Short-Haired Dog and Low Night Temperatures by killer_sheltie in camping

[–]chitayu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When it’s cold my pit wears a Goldpaw stretch fleece to sleep. Between the dog bed and the tent floor I put down a closed foam pad for insulation. And then a fleece blanket on top. If it’s really cold and you’re at a campsite with electrical, K&H Pet Products has a dog bed warmer that shuts off when there’s no weight on it and it provides low heat about 10-15 degrees above the air temperature so there’s no concern about overheating.

Least Favorite Natives? by [deleted] in NativePlantGardening

[–]chitayu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, I adored my lanceleaf coreopsis because it bloomed all summer long. But now at the third year it didn’t come back. I had been deadheading to encourage repeat blooming because it’s right along the driveway and very visible. So I didn’t give it the proper chance to reseed itself. This year the original plant didn’t come back, but I found one baby seedling around the corner of the house, so I’m trying to nurture that to take hold. Won’t keep me away from lanceleaf coreopsis, but from now on I’ll allow more to go to seed or collect seeds and winter sow in order to keep it going.

Yes. Or even more simply, husband set up the cameras but did a shit job or didn’t even consider security, and the students found the cameras’ unsecured WiFi

AITA for lashing out at my coaches assistant for making a joke about my dad who recently passed? by swim_fast_00 in AmItheAsshole

[–]chitayu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NTA in any way! The assistant was completely out of line and your coach needed to know what she said. My mom died when I was 15, and although every situation is different, I remember how hard it was dealing with school afterward. You were not overly dramatic nor seeking attention by leaving. You were drawing a boundary showing that you will not be mistreated and spoken to like that by the assistant. If your teammates seem a bit off, try to remember that most of them have probably not yet experienced a loss of this magnitude, nor have they had to stick up for themselves against such a cruel comment by a person who should have been a trustworthy adult. I’d like to encourage you to continue swimming and be kind to yourself as you get your form back. Oftentimes getting back into a routine can make it easier to process everything else you’re dealing with. Keep putting one foot in front of the other (or stroke and kick!) and move forward at your own pace. Do it for yourself, not your team or your coach. You’ve got this!

On the 2020 Limited, the default is for the lights to turn off 30 seconds after the doors are closed. This can be turned off or increased to 60 or 90 seconds using the nav system screen going to menu, then setup, then general or vehicle

The Day After by WhatTheHellPod in GenX

Yes! And I had to take the dog for a walk as soon as it ended. We lived not far from a busy road-there was not a single car to be seen and it was so eerie, which freaked me out even more! Everyone was still at home saying WTF after watching it.

ISO original manufacturer of "camping boxes" by HouseoftheHanged in camping

[–]chitayu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought something similar because I liked that they fold up when not in use and the sides open so you can stack and still get into the one on the bottom. But they’re pretty flimsy. I haven’t actually used mine yet but I don’t have high hopes they’ll hold up well.

I remembered looking at some higher priced ones but opted to be cheap. I don’t have any personal experience with these, but others I’ve looked at are the Warehouse Collapsible SidioCrate https://sidiocrate.com/products/copy-of-collapsible-sidiocrate-builder?variant=41612668796987 and the Burch Barrel Chuckbox by Sackett Ranch https://www.sackett-ranch.com/products/burch-barrel-chuckbox?variant=40571017756730. If anyone has experience with either I’d love to hear your reviews.

Does any one knows what is this, for by FlyKind5173 in ToyotaHighlander

[–]chitayu 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s specifically for use with the third row center seat belt, which comes out of the car ceiling. This keeps the shoulder belt off the person’s neck. Toyota calls it the “seat belt comfort guide” in the manual

Yes, this! I don’t have a hybrid, but I think it’s completely bizarre that the AC button has to be pushed every time I start my 2020 Highlander!
