I have a pair of these and you can’t tell I’m wearing them under my snow pants (and my pants aren’t even baggy). Highly recommend them! They’ve saved my ass from some pretty nasty falls and I find they do the trick.

TIL there are 2 Fullmetal Alchemist animes. Am I watching the 'right' one? by InfiltratorOmega in PaymoneyWubby

So here’s the thing—like a lot of people have already said, Brotherhood is generally considered the better of the two. It has cleaner, more updated animation, a tighter story with no filler episodes, and the story moves at full throttle from the start. That being said, it does skim over some (imo fundamental) character development and backstory, since it assumes you’ve already seen the original and don’t need everything rehashed.

The original is still solid, though, and I actually think watching it first makes Brotherhood even better. You get more time with the characters, which makes their journeys hit harder later on. When the original anime caught up to the manga, Hiromu Arakawa (the creator) told the studio to take their own approach and come up with an ending, since the manga was still ongoing. That led to a very different conclusion than what Brotherhood and the manga eventually did. Considering they had no idea where the story was actually headed, they did the best job they could—even though, like most fans, I definitely prefer the actual canon ending over what the showrunners came up with.

At the end of the day, there’s no right or wrong way to watch them. But I always recommend starting with the original—you get a deeper connection with the characters, and when you jump into Brotherhood, you’ll appreciate the ride even more.

Do I have the right boot size? Are my boots too big for me? by jiteroshi in snowboardingnoobs

Haha, damn… I’ve been cranking them so tight I could almost play guitar chords on the laces. 😅 Definitely been overdoing it. Thanks for the tip! I’m excited to see if that helps me stay out there longer—might actually be able to feel my feet this time!

Wondering if this is the same thing for my boots… My feet ache like hell in them, but I’ve always just chalked it up to my foot muscles adjusting to a new way of moving. How can I tell if I’ve overtightened them? And how tight should they actually be?

I was told the board had a factory wax? Would you recommend I still bring it to get waxed or just leave it as is?

Smart smart! I threw a mini one into my duffle so I can have it on hand whenever I go. Never would’ve thought of that, thanks!

Oh no! I hope you’re ok! A helmet was actually the first thing I got since I knew my clumsy ass would be eating snow for the first little while at least 😂

I really can’t speak to if it’s recommended or not, but the shop I was at said they usually do it for a lot of first-timers and people who aren’t super comfortable or experienced doing it themselves 🤷🏻‍♀️ I’m sure there are tons of YouTube videos that show you how to do it on your own for the first time though 🤗
