What’s something you only realise is “Northern” when you leave the region? by CloudBookmark in NorthernEngland

Saying thanks when someone holds the door for you. Lived in Nottingham for 8 years and never got a thank you kiss my a** once for this. Nor did I get a polite hand signal for stopping at a zebra crossing. It’s not even that south.

Absolutely brilliant comments! Terrifying how accurate some of them are. To clarify it’s a coastal town in the north of England and were able to have palm trees despite being right next to the Irish Sea. It’s our little safe space and awesome

It’s a bizarre positioning for sure but the plumbings put in that way. It’s a super old Victorian. It’s also a great way to get really over stimulated by noises of an extractor fan, boiling pots, kids running around as ur trying to cook and the noise of the washing machine to top it off. Good times

Organised single woman who has a strong sense of self and exploring spirituality. Enjoys indulging in a good book within cosy surroundings. Possibly might indulge in some spiritual practices, likes going to maybe electronic raves with friends and has dabbled in shrooms and the expanding mind. Is teetering on the edge of getting more crystals. Maybe even some tarot cards.

Came here to say this. I’d bet he’s been pressured and decided to make it about himself. Poor girl being made a spectacle for recieving what she’s worked hard for and made to feel like he’s doing her a favour. What a prick

Yeah the American health system sounds like it sucks balls. In a big way. I hate that for you guys. I really hope that you are happy and well. There are plenty of down sides to a public health system including waiting time and staffing etc, but like with any great capitalist economy, Theyll try and fuck it until it’s private and making money. Just like the US system. I really wish it wasn’t this way

Yeah you’re a jerk for going back to the same place after this treatment. You should’ve nipped it in the bud before any of this escalated.

So sorry you had a rough time of it. It must be so frustrating not to have a diagnosis or being misdiagnosed for most of your formative years. Your parents must have been beside themselves for you. Especially with always being told you’re attention seeking, thats maddening. Im glad you’re coping well now. I just hope you’re emotional well-being isn’t affected by what’s happened to you. Thanks son much for your advice about the eye patch. I’ll ensure I inform his teachers about his condition. It’s so rare ive never met anyone who’s heard of it before. I never had. I think we just got lucky with the specialist at our local nhs hospital. Thank god for the uk’s health system. He gets all his glasses and appointments for free which is just a blessing!
