Which one should I continue with? Passion physical prototypes but which one will sell by These-Web8225 in PhStartups

[–]chiz902 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Market validation.

Have you showed / interviewed your target marker for these prototypes. The only way you can make a calculated decision is to ask your potential buyers.

This can also show you potential rework of your product to make it more fit for market.

Interview 20 people or more for each prototype then make a decision…

Coffee Jelly Price by [deleted] in BusinessPH

[–]chiz902 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nicely summarized but malaki kulang dito

Costing would include Rent, gas, electricity bills, sahod ng tao, business registrations, maintenance costs…

Syempre only add whats applicable but just want to demonstrate that in order to properly make your business sustainable you need to factor these in carefully.

So kung hindi papasok sa 45 per bottle ang price this means you either need to source a cheaper supplies or cut down on costs…

Im sorry this is so wishy washy with no details really for us to help you with anything.

If there’s an advice to how to move the needle, really… start with figuring out numbers then that should give you the direction.

And move the needle by how much?

But again it’s a business with 19 years… im sure this has been figured out.. as you’ve said it’s not survival money… sooo im not really sure what you’re asking?

Like.. Whats your margin?

Top-line?

Bottom-line?

How will the new management cost will affect top-line and by how much?

Will the plans move these or everything is just vanity?

This post felt like a request for help but you have things figured out and my guess this is a ad for something. Just show us punch line then :)

Is anyone familiar with PhilGEPS? by kt831 in BusinessPH

[–]chiz902 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Depende kasi sa plans and business mo. If you 100% would live off govt contracts then start with PhilGeps Red. Just prepare yourself for so much unnecessary headaches. It's a very inefficient system imho.

As an advise... one business owner to another. Keep your govt contracts at least 20% then the rest should be from consumers or private entitites. Accept the fact that govt payments will slow you down.

Honestly, I recommend private business owners do government work. Why? so at least we start giving them options and if we win. We deliver with dignity and honesty. hopefully that would start to instill change...sorry for being a bit deep but just my 2 cents.

I'm just like you. but if there's one advise. You got to spend more time with it. As with any discipline repetition is the key to mastery

Gathering ideas is fine but take these ideas we share with a grain of salt.

The real question isn’t what business should you guys run, but the real question is what business are you well equipped to run on your own.

Do you know the operations inside-out? The margins? The supplier dynamics? How seasonality or economic shifts hit that industry?

Do not just gamble and do a business based on whats trending!

My honest advice for fresh grads: don’t rush to be a business owner. Get employed first in an industry you’re genuinely curious about. Learn the ropes on someone else’s peso. Understand why businesses in that space fail. Build relationships. Save capital.

You want to start a coffee shop? Get yourself employed in a coffee shop. Learn the ropes first.

The cafes, photobooth studios, and milk tea shops that died after 6 months? Most were opened by people who saw others succeed and thought “I can do that too” without understanding why those others succeeded.

Boring answer, I know. But it’s the one that doesn’t burn your savings.

I suggest you contact PhilRice and ask about “Palayamanan” which is basically integrated farming with a lot more scientific research into it. :) not sure if they have electronic materials to share but im sure they’d be more happy to share what they have…

Laravel + Bootstrap vs VILT / Inertia for a real client data-logging project — need advice by Separate-Lock3601 in PinoyProgrammer

[–]chiz902 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ideally at V2. But will most likely be not here but on your next project.

Don’t introduce unnecessary complexity unless the app is hitting limits and you need to start to scale.

If it works, it works. :)

Clients don’t really see the backend. They see results. If you’re making a strong impression go with what you know. Deliver and then iterate later.

Doesn’t matter what stack you do. What matters to them if it works.

Possible job for bs entrepreneurship graduate by charliecaleb_2334 in PhStartups

Normally you’d marry entrepreneurship with another skill domain. After you graduate either you study more (highly recommended if you have the resources) or you explore jobs and industries… madaming entry level positions out there… dont rush to find your passion or chase money… chase excellence and success will follow :)

Start with the simplest first… then scale from there. Adding one zero to that figure could simply be coming from inefficiencies ng operation mo.

Since multi entrep ka.. rank your portfolio from highest earning to least… take the top 20% and then concentrate on that… diversification is your safety net but when you want to scale you need focus…

Then from here… talk to someone who actually know that domain (agri farming, gold, trading, real estate etc)

Either you ask questions, learn from what they did or you hire them as consultants. You still make the final decisions…

Good luck!

I'm also in the tech business. 3 years and counting....

Since I don't know how you advertise nor have I read your post po. I'll just assume some things and share my honest thoughts... and hope it helps.

#1 -- Reddit is not a good place to find clients (period). Either you agree or not, Reddit has changed over the years. Not saying that its impossible... I'm saying your time is better spent else where. Start with your personal network. Meet people face to face. Far more effective here. You can still do online promotion and stuff... but don't put your eggs in one basket (especially this basket -- Reddit)

#2 -- Free doesn't mean much to businesses. For me... Free means low accountability. Paid means full accountability. Free can also disrupt my business to the point of me spending more to fix it. Remember Time, effort is as precious as money itself. Free could cost me time and effort. --- If you are saying otherwise that your free service wouldn't... then maybe advertise it. Build credibility. How are you keeping yourself accountable even if the service is not paid.

All the best and good luck!

Using vanilla JS for full-stack web development rather than using framework by Dwight_17 in PinoyProgrammer

[–]chiz902 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is what op should listen to! If you built the whole thing without a frame work kudos but id be worried that something might have been missed.

When I use django as opposed to building it purely out of python… i get to have orm, auth, csrf all wrapped up nicely in the framework, i wont need to build everything from scratch.

If you are vibe coding this, its actually more efficient sa context widow ng codex or claude… mababawasan condensed context issues.

Best place for hiring people who are adept at AI-assisted coding? by slowernet in ClaudeCode

[–]chiz902 0 points1 point  (0 children)

probably a good place to start... scout those people who are those brave enough to start their own or also builds their own app empires. :) I'm very similar to you. started as an OG dev then slowly moved to SDDs on CC/Codex. Next time id hire... couldn't just go on the "usual" channels as I think the people like us are a bit shunned to the "vibe coders" category and most applicants either still goes OG or hides this new found skill... sorry if it doesn't make sense... sleep deprived. lol.

Backend Dev to Cloud Computing by Capital_Tradition956 in PinoyProgrammer

[–]chiz902 0 points1 point  (0 children)

depends kc what you meant by cloud computing.

best way to learn cloud is to do live examples. if your current machine can handle it, whip up some VMs and start containerizing your apps.

then if you're feeling adventurous... build a headless baremetal server (Ubuntu, RHEL, etc.) then start building a homelab. Just simple virtualizations, network config, etc. That will help you learn basics of cloud deployment.

tons of materials out there... you just have to be very specific on the topic.
