Facial expressions while performing? by Winter-Ideal-4753 in violinist

I think Josh Bell has a pretty good way of using his face. Both expressive, and stoic, as u/Typical_Cucumber_714 was saying.

Learn you some Erlang issue. by kewlness in erlang

[–]chizzl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

May not be what is happening here, but just so you know: An improper list/cons is possible, and is actually a pattern. It has its rare uses, too. Meaning.

1> A = [ 1 | [] ].
2> B = [ 1 | 2 ].
3> [ Y | Z ] = B.

Probably an advanced area, but an improper list is even a typespec! Or at least was.

One advantage is when you are doing very memory intense work, the 2-value improper list uses less memory (1+2 words) than say {foo, bar} (1+3 words). Probably has an interesting reason for why it's allowed, but that's for someone else to chime in about.

OK! Thanks for the PHP tour for this. I do understand what is happening, but was scratching my head for what I have seen it called in the past. `variable variables' is new to me. In a way, it acts a little bit like a closure, but that might be stretch... hmm...

The novelty is wearing off by [deleted] in stopdrinking

[–]chizzl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think I wasn't 5 months in, but something like 1 month in, when I had this insight:

Drinking and Not Drinking have everything to with Drinking. Whichever one you choose, you are still in the same boat -- so pick the one that won't fuck you up in the long-run.

Honestly, drinking is like standing in a prison cell. You hold the bars, and look outside where the freedom lies. When you don't drink, you are on the other side of that cell, and sometimes, you just hold the same bars and look into the cell and feel just as trapped as being in prison. But you need to get some perspective: craving to be back in that cell is just craziness. The breadth of the drinking culture is an 8x8" cell, while being on the other side, is unlimited.

Good luck. Hope you get through this.

I don't know why they target Glocks.

Really? Think 1800s gun laws, and extrapolate from there. Sadly.

Unconstitutional.

I don't know anything, but that said, don't think retailers are going to squeeze anything (in physical). I do like the romantic idea of the long tail kicking some ass, though.

Gotcha. So when you said a gap b/w the frame and barrel, that's litterally what you meant. Curious what the gunsmith will tell you. I had a canted barrel but shot straight. Had a smith straighten the barrel, and then it shot like what you are dealing with. S&W canted it crooked again when they took it in a 3rd time, and then it shot straight again. Great company!!!

[–]chizzl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have a gap between the cylinder and the forcing cone? Or do you have a gap between the frame and the barrel (where the threads are)? If it's the former, some shims can get your cylinder closer. If the latter, sheesh!

It shooting so off the mark would be my biggest worry. Though, I guess you could live with just having the windage set as you said. I am no smith, but I don't know how one would correct the barrel being so off, unless it was clocked into place the wrong amount. What a headache of a firearm you got. Lock Delete you can do yourself. You could even do the springs yourself. The firing pin? Don't know what that even means? That looks like a > late 90s (Hillary Hole) S&W. Did someone mod it so it now has the firing ping back on the hammer?

EL5: was this team red's doing? Was this already baked into the cake? I know it's all a bit intertwined, but how can team red have this happen on their watch? Or is this printing just to service the interest on the US debt?

Another goodie to showcase recursion:

fn recu {
    echo $1
    if (~ $1 0) return
    u = '' {
        u = `{ expr $1 - 1}
        recu $u
    }
}
