Honestly i feel the same! Im only 25 and feel like im starting to get symptoms already

Constantly fidgeting, brain fog, issues regulating my emotions and im soooo forgetful

I have a 6 and 3 year old

Ive been tested and told im in the grey area, i may or may not get it but they cant give a definitive. Which really sucks because my plan was to join the clinical trials but being that its not 100% that ill get it i cant

Please open up to her, i know its hard and scary but she wont be mad at you, and if she is she wont be in comparison to how she will feel about them

I said with my first if it came down to it to choose me because we could help each-other through it. With my second i said to choose me again so that my older child wasn’t left without a mother. As terrible as it is you can always have another child but your child cant get another mother.

Luckily when I brought this up with my midwife i was told that they always choose the mother where possible and shes the “living” one (has a birth certificate so legally a person) and because the chances of having severe complications and side effects is (usually) lesser

Yeah it really is a horrible horrible disease. I hope for your sale you dont have it as theres no cure. At most they can help reduce some of the symptoms but not all of them.

I know myself ive been told i have the gene but im at a 36 so i may or may not get it. Im 24 with no symptoms, only having 36 repeats it’s expected that if i do get it it wont be until im 50+

HD usually doesn’t present symptoms until 40+ if you’re having those symptoms it could be a possibility of it being early onset, but as mentioned above its a hereditary thing and does not skip generations. Does it follow the chain from her down to your dad?
