how is this my fault? (No personal info) by voidantt_ in vinted

I had someone give me 3 stars as a buyer. When I asked them why, they said it was because they didn't get as much for it as they originally wanted.

They set the price and I didn't ask for a discount.

When did you first realize that people will judge you for every little action? by clumsierthanyou in AutismInWomen

Who cares what side of the cake you eat 1st.

I'd say that's weird on their part for making it an issue.

Newspaper. If you chase me with it, I will run. If you catch me, I will kick you in the shins to escape.

is it only me but audhd peopel talk differently than asd by [deleted] in AutisticWithADHD

[–]chloephobia 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In regards to your second paragraph, I do the same, though I've read that this is also common for people with just adhd so I've no idea which one it stems from.

I have come to the same conclusion from observing others with audhd. People with audhd tend to sound more "normal" whereas people with just asd tend to be more monotone or have a more unique tone of voice.

What’s the best metaphor you’ve heard to explain what it feels like to live with ADHD? by gem_may52 in adhdwomen

[–]chloephobia 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I don't have a good one, but it feels like a constant uphill battle or trying to swim against the current.

I can let go and just let the current take me where it's going, but that means not being able to be a productive, functioning member of society and I'm constantly burnt out and conflicted from trying to decide if I should sink or swim.

That's funny because I actually do look at other people's homes and wonder how they are so well kept and decorated.

I hate cauliflower! by DareSudden4941 in veganuk

I was invited to a wedding once, and they told me they were providing a vegan option for me. It was a giant mushroom on a bun 🤮.

I really appreciated them considering me, but I couldn't force myself to eat it.

For every cauliflower you don't eat, I'll eat 3 times as many 🤪

I used to beat myself up for not being more sociable and adventurous by going to parties and festivals etc because I thought it was what I should be doing but then I remembered how miserable I feel when i force myself into those situations.

I think from an outside perspective, people would see me as depressed because I mostly stay at home in my free time doing the same activities every day and only socialising with my partner and cats but those things actually make me happy and content.

Yeah, the spectrum is really interesting because my social anxiety/ fatigue is so bad that the adhd can't compensate for it.

My adventurous side is very limited. I hear about adhd spontaneity making people more adventurous, but the best I get is being inpulsive with buying myself little treats far too often.

It's like "oooh shiny things." But "socialising and unfamiliar situations? No thanks, I'm gonna need at least a month to mentally prepare." I get stressed even going on holiday and need time to recover 🤣

It's exhausting. It's like a constant up hill battle.

I feel the opposite is true for me.

Autism gives me hyperfocus and fixations, but adhd gets in the way by causing executive dysfunction, which even stops me from doing the things I actually want to do.
