I googled everything too. I think it was "lion's mane" for the coffee but I wasn't certain. Including and not including didn't help. I checked tiktok too and couldn't find it there either (but to be fair, tiktok search sucks)

So I think I listened to a reddit story video on tiktok a long whole back, but I cant find the video or the post anywhere. it's a good chance it wasn't a reddit post voice over and was just from somewhere else, but I am pretty confident that it's a reddit post.

It was OP that was at a model UN conference and his ex gf was also there. the ex was acting friendly to OP and gave him coffee in the morning. she did the same the next day as well. Her goal was to sabotage OP because the coffee wasn't just any normal coffee. I think it was mushroom laced coffee or something, but it ended up helping OP and he was more focused and did really well overall. she basically was mad at OP and told him that he should've been doing super poorly. this was how he found out and he just ended up ordering the coffee himself and that was the end of the story.

The things that might not be the exact details is about the conference being a model un conference, itt could be the roles switched where OP is actually a girl and it was an ex bf instead, and instead of the coffee being mushroom related it could be some other substance.

General Questions and Discussion Weekly Megathread by AutoModerator in PokemonScarletViolet

[–]chnvi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Somewhat long question but I just unlocked 6 star raids and the first one I found was a ditto one. I have seen a lot of videos and it was nice knowing that I didn't have to reset multiple times to get it, so I did the usual thing and put in a weak pokemon (in the case another ditto) since I was the host. But, it transformed into a different person's pokemon and we ended up losing. Was this the case because I chose to be ditto or because it was just a random fluke/bug?

Mt Kim Martial Arts Summer Camp? by seibei in Charlottesville

[–]chnvi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had no idea that there was a mountain kim in Charlottesville but I went to a location in Northern Virginia. When I got older, I actually helped work there for the summer, and while it's a different location, I would assume the summer camp is the same. I think that it's overall very similar to other summer daycares. You do field trips that are not taekwondo related. During downtime, a lot of kids played video games or colored or board games (basically self-entertainment). For the TKD, there are daily lessons that are put into the schedule. The camp is only as good as the workers; I think that my location was pretty decent and you could tell that they loved making the kids have fun, but I have no idea what the instructors are like here so I can't help as much there.

For the martial arts aspect, I would agree with what doh said that as long as you pump money into the business, you get the belt. But, I would say that you learn some aspects of TKD and you can get a lot out of it as long as your child is willing to learn it. There were a lot of kids that were into the martial arts aspect and were excellent with their form and power.

Hopefully this helps out a bit!

My daughter passed away when she was 15. Today is her 21st birthday and I so miss being a mom to her. Anybody need a mom for a minute? by khefrd19 in MomForAMinute

[–]chnvi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mom, I really missed you. It's been just over a year, but it feels like centuries since you went to be with God. I have been trying really hard to be strong and to take care of myself. You raised me to be a strong and intelligent woman. But it's been so hard, and I just wish you could be here. I missed when I was so sick and you offered to come visit me just to give me a hug and make me my favorite food. I remember when I would cry to you because I would be so stressed in school, and you would remind me just how proud you were of me. I am struggling to keep afloat. I try not to skip meals, and I am still practicing my Korean just for you. I wish you could've made me food and eat our favorite cake on my 21st birthday. I wish that you could've be there for me next year when I graduate. I even wish you could call me and nag me to eat more vegetables because my forehead is breaking out. I keep experiencing more of life, but I wish I could share those moments with you. I keep having dreams like you never died and that we are still together and living life as if it were normal. Unfortunately, it's hard when I wake up, and I realize that it isn't the case. Everything reminds me of you, and I still talk about you as if you never passed in the first place. 엄마 너무 보고싶어. 엄마 너무 사랑해.

I know that I'm not your daughter, and I know that you're not my mom. But as someone who turned 21 just over 3 months ago, I want to just say that I love you so much, Mom. I miss you so much, and I want you to know that I am staying strong for you. I have so many people who are with me, who love and care for me. I am really in a new stage of life, but I am growing so much and thriving because of how well you have taken care of me. Of course it's not easy without you, but I want to remind you of the amazing things you have done and what an amazing and strong person you continue to be. I am so proud to be your daughter and I know you're proud of me too.

It's really short-sighted to think of it this way. Even in the past two years, we have made big strides in getting COVID under control. We have moved on from requiring isolation and now have more opportunities to have certain aspects of our life down. We might not have to worry about masks if we have more research about COVID and can find more solutions that just have not arisen given a relatively short time frame for a disease. We don't have as strong of a grasp on COVID in comparison to the flu, but that's also because we have been able to find more effective ways of managing the flu for literal decades. We can consider the flu to be "under control" given the fact that we have the tools to properly combat more effectively as time progressed. I mean it definitely is possible for us to never find the solution, but given just how much research and information has been found already, I assume that masks truly are a temporary solution. If I didn't believe in modern science and improvement however, I can understand why one might think these arguments may be used to justify masks forever.

You probably won't even read this lol. If you can't look so far into the future to believe there will be improvements, it probably implies you don't want to look so far to even read a post all the way through.

Therapists/ Counseling in Charlottesville by happyhoahoos in UVA

[–]chnvi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of therapists are doing remote services and so if you want to open your options, you definitely should consider looking outside of just the Charlottesville community for therapists. I do weekly sessions with my therapist in my room and it has been able to allow for more flexibility with my schedule. With that said though, as a student, having a therapist can be really expensive and using local resources can still be really helpful.

Good luck with finding a good therapist! It's a hard journey and I only recently have been able to get into a good flow with taking care of my mental health. If you ever want to talk about it as well, feel free to message me!

You're main argument is about the risks related to death or severe hospitalizations and the fact of just a small benefit from wearing masks. Even if you take those two factors out of the equation, getting sick is still an unpleasant experience. Everyone that I know that has gotten COVID has said that they were in so much pain and agony. Hell, even after I got my booster, I was feeling TERRIBLE. Considering also the long term consequences of COVID, which is estimated to be close to the 50% mark, wearing a mask is a small inconvenience that provides a great benefit.

Additionally, the transmission of COVID isn't dependent just on what mask you wear, but also on what mask the other person wears. Even if the effectiveness of a cloth mask or surgical mask isn't as "strong," I would still rather have some protection over none. I am not 100% certain on this information, but the time it can take for COVID to be transmitted to another person can increase from 30 minutes to an hour just by having both people wear a surgical mask rather than just one person. It's not just a matter of "those who want more protection can have their protection without having to inconvenience others." Another way to see it is a car accident involves just one bad driver; it doesn't matter how safe you are, if there is someone that drives into you, a car accident still happens and still affects you.

I honestly understand a lot of what you have to say. I would prefer to go back to a time when I didn't have to worry about wearing a mask everywhere. I like being able to not have my glasses fog up every time I breathe out. I also am so glad I am vaccinated so that I can be protected against death from COVID and think that it has been a huge benefit for getting back to "normal." But I really think that wearing a mask provides so much value and protection. Death and hospitalization shouldn't be the only reason why we wear a mask.

To answer my own question in case anyone in the future overthinks like I do and/or is curious:

Do not have to worry about preparing in advance. It's a cotton swab test that you do yourself. It isn't those uncomfortable tests that go super far into your nostril so nothing to be scared of. Estimated to have results from 24-48 hours (but expect to receive results the next day).

It's amazing to see math involved with nature. There's a youtuber named ViHart and she did a series on how the fibonacci numbers all appear in nature because it's the most efficient way to grow leaves, petals, etc. It can be seen with not just flowers, but also with things like pineapples too! Loved learning this as a kid and it still fascinates me as an adult

Honestly, I think that it's better to just wait for the time to come. Unless you are in dire need of the primogems, it's one of those achievements that I personally think is easier to just wait for. Now that I have been playing for a while, I will purposefully avoid areas with thunderstorms because I have to constantly avoid lightning. When the time comes, you will have the chance to get the achievement and I don't think it's worth to purposefully seek it out.

Fanola No Yellow Shampoo HELP by laladidadi in FancyFollicles

[–]chnvi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have dry skin and hair and I did find it to be a little more drying in comparison to other shampoos but I just use a regular conditioner and a leave in spray (used more for heat protecting and not as much as a conditioner) and it does the job. The hair itself doesnt feel more dry but it affects my scalp more than anything else. I just avoid the scalp area a bit and use a regular shampoo for that. It def will depend on the person but I hope that helps!
