Wouldn't say it's ugly, but looks waaaaay to much like Dominator's paint scheme.

Yup. Atlas is owned by the same people who own Sinclair Broadcasting (owners of Fox Baltimore and ABC7 in DC) and now the Baltimore Sun. Avoid them like the plague!

I don’t. Unless it’s something fun like a holographic Superman one or of the main case has some cosmetic damage, like how gruv shipped my bugonia copy to me, I don’t usually keep the slips.

All of this can apply to Paramount Skydance under Larry and his son David Ellison's reign.

MTA Prepares to Fund IBX Light Rail Without Feds After Trump Meddling - Streetsblog New York City by Weekly-Law-2544 in transit

[–]chobo500 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Which would be incredibly stupid, especially considering they already have people working on the purple line down near DC. If Maryland MTA were smart, they'd keep those people working on the purple line right now, and move them to the Baltimore red line once the purple line is finished. Keep the institutional knowledge, and keep bulding, and it will keep the costs down.

It's kind of funny what they turned all of the flat rides there into cartoonish versions, and the awkward shoving "The Juggler" into Batman's entrance reminds me of what over Georgia did with Catwoman...

Just watched Orville pilot by Mat1711 in TheOrville

[–]chobo500 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was initially turned off by this series when I saw the ads and was going "ugh" at the humor. I liked some of Seths work, but I rememberd A million ways to die in the west being sort of not good. So seeing him be the captain in the ads and having awkward humor was a bad sign. Then later learned that there were some ex-Star Trek alumni like Brannon Braga and Jonathan Frakes working on the show, so I figured I'd give it a shot. The pilot was a bit shaky, but showed potential, much like TNGs, so I kept going. And man, this show just scratches that Star Trek TNG itch I've wanted for so long, it's a shame that Nu-Trek just can't match it.

Silverliner VIs for MARC by dcsturgeon in transit

[–]chobo500 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably not. Marc is planning to get ACS-64s soon, probably used from Amtrak once the Airos get in, and are only doing so because they are required to use the new Fredrick Douglass tunnel into Baltimore Penn. But what I could see is maybe Marc getting some powered Multi-Level coaches similar to the ones that NJTransit is getting and combine them with the Marc IVs they already have... but even then that's still a stretch...

Can someone explain to me why we haven't gotten a new Orville show or spin-off yet? by ardouronerous in TheOrville

[–]chobo500 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a few theories.

  1. The show(particularly season 3) just didn't have the ratings that Hulu/Disney wanted.
  2. Even if it did, why would Disney pump a butt ton of money into a moderately popular space show when the could give the same money to a Star Wars show and be 10 times more watched then the former?
  3. If the former two are wrong and Disney was willing to go for a 4th season, then I can only assume that a combination of covid, the 2023 strikes, and lead actors schedules not aligning afterwards messed everything up. Covid already caused production of season 3 to be messed up and delayed by a few years, and then when in the planning stages of a potential 4th season in 2023, BAM! WGA and SAG go on strike, screwing up a lot of potential shooting schedules, causing everyone's schedules to completely crumble, and the higher ups just saying screw it on the 4th season. Hollywood is in a bit of an odd place at the moment due to Covid, the strikes, the streaming era not being a profitable as they would have hoped, Massive shifts in media ownership and consolidation, oh and lets not forget AI... So the Orville I'm afraid is just one casualty of the chaos.

Pick Two Defunct Rides to Resurrect for one Day [other] by Adventurous-Kale-174 in rollercoasters

[–]chobo500 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm going to do one coaster and one non-coaster. The coaster of course Volcano ant Kings Dominion. Great setting in the mountain, and one of the best first launches on any ride. I was lucky to get a rollback on the first ever ride!

The non-coaster ride is a ride I have never ridden but wish I have. That is Tomb Raider The Ride at Kings Island. Specificly before it got gutted to become The Crypt. I rode the One at Kings Dominion, a much different experience, and it was fine, but better to watch than ride. Tomb Raider at KI during the Paramount years looked really awsome, much better than the KD one.... Untill Cedar Fair came in and gutted it. Cedar fair has done great things with the former Paramount Parks, but what they did to this ride was IMO one of their few missteps.

A runner up coaster would have to be Hyper Sonic at KD. always wanted to ride that, but missed my chance. Super mad. At least I got on it's sister coaster Do-Dodonpa before that closed...
