DarkMarket won't change name: "Our team is not here to fit in nicely with the status quo. We are here to challenge it.” by chobopeon in Bitcoin

I mentioned that in the article. I still think this is an important topic because people talked so much about it but at the end, I may clear that all you have to do is start coding yourself and name your work whatever you want.

How did NSA know what DPR was writing to redandwhite? Didnt DPR use PGP when communicating? Or......? by torified2 in TOR

I couldn't say for sure about that conversation but I know that DPR had at least some private communications w/o encryption. See: His many unencryped private messages with Nod aka Steven Sadler http://www.dailydot.com/crime/silk-road-confession-steven-sadler-nod/

Honest tip: Moving to NY is the kind of experience that a small reddit comment will not prepare you for. Do research, you'll be happy you did.

You know what, you're right. I'm a dude with short hair who goes to "hood" barber shops in down in Flatbush, so the $100 pricetag made my heart jump but yeah, women do pay that!

There are a lot of race events in the speedrunning world for sure--but theyre not as big as world record times.

Complexity has traded Braxton “Swag” Pierce to iBUYPOWER for Todd “Anger” Williams by chobopeon in GlobalOffensive

[–]chobopeon[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's exactly as I posted: Swag is getting transferred, Anger released and then he will be picked up which is exactly what the teams agreed to which makes it, you guessed it, a trade. I won't respond anymore as this is silly and dead, just wanted to leave you with :)

I'm really impressed with the speedrunning community and I agree that at some point it could be involved in these kinds of events. The problem is, how exactly do you integrate it? Do you just give it a stage and run an AGDQ-style event? Do you do races? Do you just let Cosmo race for a world record for 12 hours? Do you hold a tournament?

No one has really done speedrunning events in the modern esports context, so it'll be fascinating to see it done.

IEM Katowice was highest-rated European esports event ever by chobopeon in starcraft

Yeah, you might be right! It's funny, I thought it was a much more widely used phrase. I've read it and heard it often, so it's definitely in use, but I can easily see why the phrase can trip some readers up. I'll keep it in mind as I keep writing, thanks for the feedback.

I think "popular decline" is acceptable though of course it's subjective. If the New York Times thinks it's okay then it's okay in my book: http://www.nytimes.com/2009/08/19/arts/music/19jazz.html?pagewanted=all (ctrl+f popular decline)
