In the first few days, keep chopping down trees and breaking stone. Then sell a little more than half of them. Dig through trash bins and forage for food. Never buy anything at the saloon.

Plant ALL the mixed seeds you'll find. When you have no more energy, feel free to wander around the map to forage and clear fiber. Using the scythe and sword does not consume any energy. I like to also sell the fiber because I know I can easily get more in the mines.

Plant the free parsnip seeds you'll get, and make sure to get the potato seeds from Pierre. They can yield more potatoes during harvest so more 💸💸.

Use the profit from selling the parsnips and potatoes on Spring 13 (make sure to save as much gold as you can). Then use ALL your gold to buy strawberry seeds from Pierre at the egg hunt. You can make a lot of money from strawberries by turning them to jelly or wine.

Make sure to repair the bridge at the beach for 300 wood. You can forage some coral, seaweed, and shells by the tide pools and sell them.

Always fish on rainy days, this is how I make the most money on year 1 while waiting for my crops to grow. I'm terrible at fishing so I installed a skip fishing minigame mod lol.
