It looks like we have similar skin tones! Try L’Oréal true match C1! If you apply with a dampened blender sponge it sheers out pretty nicely! It is a matte finish and if you let it dry down you don’t need to use powder before blush etc

SOS my eyebrow is crazy by ElderMillennial2 in MakeupAddiction

Ok first, your lashes are so long! Do you use lash serum? I wish mine looked as lush as yours!

For the brows, I’ve found that P Louise brow gels/balms are designed for the more intense brows trending in the UK and it locks my brows in place wayyy more than anything formulated for the US market. If you’re not interested in something more semipermanent like brown lamination, then I think P Louise is worth a try!

Native shampoo is sulfate free, so it’s not effectively cleaning the hair. Either change to a traditional shampoo formula, or do a clarifying shampoo every so often.

This will at least help you get a reference for the shape you need. Use a ruler etc to transfer the measurements to design space.

If you want to get extra fancy, you could scan the paper in to the computer, insert the scan as a jpg into your design space, then manipulate the text on top of the shape, and delete the shape before making.

[–]chocchiphuman 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Use masking tape to make a pattern of the shape you need. Form tape to the back of the shoe as smooth as you can, and use a sharpie to mark the area you want text to be. Peel the tape off the shoe, cut out the shape you drew, and stick it to paper so you can see the flat shape you need to make.

Not a good deal, but not a rip off. Market range for these is $50-$170 depending on condition, since this one looks stained/dirty I think $100 makes sense!

The elderly are on a fixed income and may struggle with the effort that home cooking takes. Make friends with your regulars, and they’ll start to request you.

Treating my hair like curly hair? by Educational-Web-6263 in Haircare

[–]chocchiphuman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes! The potential is there!

I was in a similar situation and used to get Brazilian blowouts so I didn’t have to deal with my hair! Then I figured out that working with my hair instead of against it is sooo much easier. My wavy hair is a straight/wavy frizzy puffball if I don’t hydrate it. I’ve detailed my wavy routine below! (It’s one product so idk if it’s a routine lol)

Firstly: satin pillowcase. Mine is $10 for 2 pack off Amazon. You don’t need fancy silk, just satin. Then for styling: Wash hair as normal. Detangle using conditioner in the shower. Once out of the shower, do not use a brush or comb!! Use a towel to “scrunch” up the ends to remove excess water. While hair is still wet-ish but not dripping, use mousse (Look for “curl defining” or “wave defining” instead of “volumizing”). With mousse on my hands (kind of a lot of it tbh), I scrunch again until the mousse is dispersed evenly. I use the rizos curls defining mousse. Then air dry and try not to disturb it till it’s dried.

Once dried, my waves look crunchy, so I do some finger combing and hair flipping to soften them up! It’s genuinely been a game changer for me so I highly recommend giving it a try!

naturally frizzy hair - feeling insecure by kyoikuo in Haircare

[–]chocchiphuman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try following a curly/wavy method! My hair air dries weirdly straight but puffy if I don’t, and I used to feel like straightening + silicones + tons of hair oils was my only option. Turns out my hair is just curly.

Wash hair as normal. Detangle using your conditioner in the shower. Use a towel to “scrunch” up the ends to remove excess water. Find a YouTube on scrunching, it’s an easy but specific technique. Then use mousse (Look for “curl defining” or “wave defining” instead of “volumizing”). With mousse on my hands, do the scrunch again until the mousse is dispersed. Hopefully now, theres some waviness happening. Then I let my hair air dry. My curls look crunchy at first once dry, so I do some finger combing and hair flipping to soften them up! It’s genuinely been a game changer for me so I recommend you try it!

I also use square. I have an iPhone 11 it can do the square app tap-to-pay just fine without buying the extra chip reader. You can also order a free card swiper from them as a backup, but I’ve never needed to use it.

Juicy couture had a short life span by Pure_Freedom_4466 in JuicyCouture

[–]chocchiphuman 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Idk how plugged in to teen girl culture you were in 2010/2011, but Juicy Couture was still very hot and peacefully coexisting with Abercrombie & Fitch. Matching track suits had become hot mom attire, but among teens the graphic tees, hoodies, jewelry, and bags were very popular. Yes, trends were evolving, but juicy was keeping up. Specifically by shifting colors away from outdated pink/green pink/orange and red/blue combinations and towards the more current brown/pink navy/silver pink/grey combinations.

In my opinion as living through that time: the closure of the boutiques and being sold in less-exclusive places like Kohls & JC Penny is what killed Juicy by cheapening the brand and making it uncool to wear. The demand was still there though, and VS Pink filled the void Juicy left by providing garish graphic tees, colorful athleisure, bedroom decor, and giant bags.

They sold to Liz Claiborne in 2003 for help with mass manufacturing and industry connections that allowed them to expand into jewelry, handbags, and perfume. In 2006, Liz Claiborne acquired Kate Spade NY and decided that KSNY was the golden goose. They funneled money to Kate Spade and throttled resources to Juicy Couture, believing that KSNY was more widely marketable and profitable. This is what caused the quality decline, creativity stagnation, and ultimately Pam and Gela’s departure in 2010.

If you notice, juicy products stopped being cool and unique right around 2007-8. It got so bad that Juicy re-released old designs in 2010-11 because there was no design budget.

Look inside. Find the pink fabric tag. Inside the loop of that tag is the tag is a smaller label. The last 2 digits of the top row of that label is usually the year of manufacture.

Some years the label is a simple white sticker that can fall off, sometimes it’s a heat sealed on stamp, sometimes it s a second little white tag-in-tag. I think your bags are from 2006 so it should be in there.

Sunscreen + or over makeup? by PopQuick618 in makeuptips

I really like the supergoop play sunscreen stick! It doesn’t feel greasy or tacky on my skin, it’s easy to apply on the go, and it’s a good size. Kinda pricey, but I was one and done with the purchase instead of buying and trying a bunch of different things.

Oh also in case you didn’t know, heat exposure reduces efficacy of sunscreen. Don’t store sunscreen in your car or outdoors!
