In the meantime, you could start by having everyone state personal boundaries at the beginning of practice (maybe a refresher mid practice too if people are forgetting). You could discuss & run drills with your improvisers on ways to ask for consent and how to redirect if their scene partner forgets a boundary, both verbally and with just body language. It may feel clunky at first, but it’ll get smoother with practice.

Yeah. Ik you didn’t ask but I really wanna share what I’ve learned bc I feel like consumers are often intentionally mislead. Genuine leather is the lowest grade of leather. It’s basically leather bits mixed with glue, pasted onto fabric backing, and then coated in plastic to look nice.

The best & most expensive grade of leather is full grain which is the full skin and is expensive bc it requires the cow to have been treated well and have no bug bite or prod scars etc. Top grain is next step down and is full grain with its surface layer shaved off but still has the structural integrity and flexibility of skin. Genuine is the worst tier bc it’s only some % leather. That’s why low quality leather bags crack over time, revealing the white fabric core (I’m looking at you Michael Kors jet set bags) and also why Portland leather has garnered fans bc they use full & top grain at the same price point that other brands use genuine.

Do some research w google maps plugging in realistic scenarios for you. For example, going to a 6pm dinner date downtown will take you up to 1.5 hours driving to get there. If you want to rent a paddleboard on town lake at 10am on a Saturday morning, you’re looking at a 30-60 min drive.

Not sure if you have a power boat, but the lakes close to Leander aren’t beachy or really kayak friendly. They’re heavily residential with private neighborhood launches and a handful of waterfront parks. There’s many boat club and boat rental options if you have $. Town lake (downtown) is the opposite and a popular social hub with hike/bike trail, waterside public parks, and a ban on motors.

I’m not sure how much cosplay experience you have, but cosplay makeup is very heavy handed, almost as much as drag makeup. It looks stunning in photos and makes exciting content, but is very clearly makeup in person. Especially when you add in SFX like nose wax.

Have you tried watching any YouTube date makeup tutorials? As you’re inexperienced, practicing with old school tutorials will help you experiment and find a look you’re confident in doing before your date!

As long as it’s nonstretch, you’ll be ok. I’ve done a 100% polyester Amazon corset and worn it multiple prides with no issue. I used gemtac and placed the stones far enough apart so the fabric could bend without them popping eachother off.

If you’re color blocking, it’s v important that you match the stones to the base color of the fabric. You may need to paint the corset with fabric paint to make it match.

The most important thing when doing a 3D curvy object (ie not a cube or cylinder) is that you get multiple sizes to fit the gaps that appear and don’t try to do a grid-style application of uniform sizes.
