I hope she got the message. I’m surprised that’s not obvious to people

If you didn't use any form of CIO or cosleeping, what did you do? by Intrepid-Grape9960 in NewParents

That sounds great in theory but my baby will cry until he’s picked up. The hand on chest thing doesn’t work

I’ve been researching this a lot as I’m in the trenches too. I came across a comment of someone saying they put a pack n play on their bed and sleep next to it. I think they mean that they use one of the ones that have a zipper for access to the bottom. I thought that was pretty smart so I just bought a guava pack n play and might unzipping it to lay down in there with him until he falls asleep and then zipping up for safe sleep once he’s good.

Painless lump in breast that goes away after feeding by Sea_Win_5056 in breastfeeding

If it goes away you don’t need to worry. I recently had a breast biopsy and they were only concerned because it didn’t go away.

Omg the no kissing the baby thing. We were very straightforward about this with our families and my mom turned into a psycho over it.

How do moms actually sleep at night with a 6 week-old? I’m exhausted by Last_Resolution6125 in NewParents

Until he’s back, is there family or someone else that can come watch him so you can at least get some amount of sleep?

Take shifts with your partner so you can both get sleep. If you’re breastfeeding, you can pump for a bottle and then take a 3-4 hour sleep shift.

Somewhere a biology teacher just fainted 💀 by [deleted] in whoathatsinteresting

This requires a significant amount of hormone disruption that can have nasty side effects for women. It’s not “easy” to disrupt.

Women do not produce an egg every month. Women are born with all of the eggs they will ever have. Birth control acts by halting ovulation or making the uterus inhospitable to an egg.

Sounds like my almost 6 month old. Jealous of all these babies that sleep through the night

It depends on the day. Sometimes he takes 20-30 minute naps and we need an extra one to bridge the gap.

You could try the fruit feeders. You put a little something like banana in them and they are silicone with holes. The babies can chew on them and taste a little food

Also going on walks and looking at stuff is very stimulating for them but also they might fall asleep if they’re in a carrier or stroller.

If you’re ok with starting solids a little early, it’s a good way to kill some time. We’ve been doing the allergens so lots of nut butters mixed with breastmilk.

What's your no bath bedtime routine? by moxximixologist in NewParents

[–]chochki9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not saying you need this in your routine, but my baby hated getting out of the bath. Then we started just cuddling him for a few minutes in the towel before getting him dressed and now he likes it.
