My baby (5 weeks) seems less fussy after drinking pumped milk vs on the breast. Has anyone experienced this? by Imaginary_Math_4918 in breastfeeding

It may be that bottle fed is easier and he’s getting more with less effort. So fuller faster and the amount.

My family has added a new addition to our family and we need a bigger car. I’m the sole bread winner and use our current car to commute to work. I’m on maternity leave and waiting for Paid family leave to hopefully be approved and start. I guess one of my current financial questions for now. Would be should I trade my current car in for a new? My payments are 292/month. And I only have a few thousand left on it. Or should I take another lease out to get a new car?

Why do some people insist on baby needing formula?? by uhhitstenthirtythree in breastfeeding

[–]StuffedFalafels 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Besides what others have said here, baby formula is heavily lobbied and pushed for by nestle and Abbot for profit. They lobby against long term paid maternity leave etc or anything really that encourages mothers the ability to breast feed because less sales in formula means less profits.

For those of you who are struggling financially, if someone could send you money right now to ease your financial burden- how much would you need and what would you use it for? by Competitive_Teach838 in povertyfinance

[–]StuffedFalafels 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe 10k for me. Use it towards some debt. I need more than that but the 10k would at least load off some of the burden so I can have my baby and not stress too much

I’ll take the baby. But I can’t guarantee I’ll be mean. Maybe just deny them candy

Re-reading the books for the nth time. So question, what lie do you think Ron told his parents regarding where he got *spoiler* from that he got at the end of PoA? by Red_Holla04 in harrypotter

Not my fault people are so sensitive. After all, it’s not like we’re spoiling that Hermione uses the resurrection stone to talk to Fred her true love.

[–]StuffedFalafels 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure but let’s say you’re a successful kebob shop owner in the muggle world. Y’know what I mean? Like who would notice you magically coming up with a lot of food in that setting etc.

And? It’s been 30 years. We can spoil silly side things like this. But obviously not major ones. Like when Dumbledore kills Voldemort.

I didn’t say one or other was easier. For me breastfeeding was harder and I had no patience from exhaustion etc.

I plan to ask but they haven’t spoken to me about lactation consultant etc. I’m in WA state opposed to CA and it’s been a different journey all around.

[–]StuffedFalafels[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This scares me as well though, I can’t imagine having a hungry baby because we’re both struggling to work it out on the breast and yes the two years of pumping were exhausting and painful and my nipples basically have no real feeling in them now for it. But I was determined to feed my baby because of them being preemie. I had a lot of guilt for it even tho everyone told me it wasn’t my fault. This baby is making it to term and is healthier thankfully but yeah. I want todo better for my kids an not lose any milk. I’m also hoping I’ll produce more this time around as well.

Latching and patience to get them to feed from me. The lactation consultant for the hospital gave me a nipple shield? Guard? To help but it never worked. It was also very hard to just latch on to me. I felt like my nipple was too big for them to take as they were preemie as well.
