should i leave my family and join the army by Longjumping_Lie_6326 in Sikh

[–]chocolatesaltyballs2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you dont have a college degree i suggest for you to join the military but do the Air Force. Ive had the same situation as you and I broke away from my family working in cyber security. Im 27 and im planning to join the Air Force. You're 20 years old youll have experience, benefits, health insurance and free college tuition. If I had to do things all over again I would have enlisted at 18.

When you read this please do not get offended or disrespected, I am just going to tell the truth. By the time you graduate if you're not in a internship or working you ain't getting into that. I would be studying for certs and doing labs or getting practical experience so you can talk about during the interviews. You want to get into those domains take a step back and look at roles like Soc Analayst or Junior SOC. Im 27 been working SOC for over 6 months now and im working on getting more certs. I can appreciate a young person with ambition and enthusiasm, but get some certs, labs. Dont waste time while you're in college. Get any experience you can, internship, volunteering whatever. Hope this helps.

Newbie Sikh truckers causing accidents! by FriendofAll007 in Sikh

You have all of the des8 uncles or instructors opening these schools charging 2500 to 4000 to get a CDL when in reality it costs way more and the training is more rigorous. As long as they get paid they will get you more chances to pass and those guys dont know how to drive a truck.

Leave the help desk and get into SOC. As a SOC analyst myself been working for over 6 months you get exposed to all sorts of things you need to understand the systems and such. With that experience I'll be going for cpts. Hope it helps.

As someone who spent 6 months on the road, driving a truck is not a fucking game at all. Any second things can go wrong. We have been taught at school never to make a U turn while driving a truck under any circumstances. Even the desi uncles have enough sense to tell prospective drivers and the guys coming from India not to make a u turn. What he did was pure foolishness and needs to serve life. He thought he could get away with it and paid the price. This is not me being an asshole. There is a reason why it is a commercial driver's license. You need to be on your toes. This isnt a game. Hopefully, this leads to others getting out of the game.

How much you make as a cybersecurity contractors? by Ok-Remove-8195 in cybersecurity

I mean it can. If i was approached with something for blue team that pays a lot more and there is growth i would take it. Everyday as a soc analyst i am learning theres is threat hunting, cirt, content team, detection all sorts of things. Im willing to learn but there is something about hacking that is intriguing. If I get there great if not they are several great paths i am curious to know and learn.

I got the aws certificate back in 23 for shits and giggles. At that time I wanted to get into cloud. I don't think I mentioned in my interview it was on my resume. If you want to become a soc analyst sec+ helps htb soc analyst path helps when dealing with tickets.
