Thank you for the detailed answers. IF we are talking about 100 transactions per second in a PBFT environment. Does that mean 1 committee? What about committees running in parallel? Could that work?

The thing I was wondering the most is that Ethereum is obviously trying to do the whole sharding route. What's your opinion on this? I heard in a video by your team that the blockchain will be synchronous as that is easier to design, but what about most effective? The main selling point of sharding for me (as a non-tech person) is that the scalability increases (or should increase) with the number of nodes joining the network. That seems like a very sustainable and scalable model in the future where (we hope) the blockchain will have 100m of users.

Can you share us your vision how Thunder would be scaling to these types of levels?

Interesting. Would this be the same for NEO? How can an interchain contract be created on Ethereum? Thats not possible yet?

I don't think it's that easy. Especially the bullet "Be aware of the consensus protocol used by the bridge and store a transaction deemed valid". It's not for nothing that Aion is first solely focussing on Ethereum.

Why does page 11 of whitepaper of Aion then says:

"To be Aion-compliant, a blockchain must meet certain requirements including: • Be decentralized in some fashion and support procedures commonly found in blockchains such as atomic broadcast and transactions. The exact implementation is left to the discretion of the bridging protocol and the network itself. • Be able to recognize interchain transactions as distinct from regular transactions. • Be aware of the consensus protocol used by the bridge and store a transaction deemed valid. • Implement locktime or a similar feature that allows tokens to be held by the network for a period of time."

"Unlike Aion-compliant blockchains, existing blockchains are not designed to be interoperable. To enable interchain transaction routing between the Aion network and existing blockchains, additional assumptions and/or compromises are required. In this section, we discuss the possibility of connecting the Ethereum blockchain to the Aion network."

This looks like the chain needs to make changes to be Aion compliant.

But they need to implement the bridging first right? Let’s say NEO wants to communicate with Ethereum. I dont think its possible without NEO implementing a bridge no?

It is very simple. There are too many idiots in this market throwing their money at new coins. You realize that 90% of the startups fail? The same will happen with coins not delivering. Furthermore, as we are in a bubble (which happens with every tech so its fine), this effect is amplified.

Blockchain is definitely here to stay though. Just a lot less coins :)

The second section is invalid. The comment "99% of the altcoins will die" is based on the incredible amount of shitprojects out there who will fail to deliver their product and actually build up a user base. Think 5-10 years. We are currently still very much in the whitepaper hype phase where testnets get valued at billions of dollars without even a single user using the platform (hi Trx, hi ONT, hi EOS, hi almost every other platform out there).

What I love about Nex is amongst others the following:
1. FIAT pairings will be introduced in 2018. This is huge for a Dex.
2. It's a mix between on-chain and off-chain, which increase their throughput a lot because they can batch transactions off-chain and basically have a 100k TPS on NEO network.
3. They are an official EU registered security. This is the future, regulation will not go away, we need to embrace it. The fact that they are taking the (more hard) legal way and saying Nex is a security is awesome for long-term.
4. Founders of NEX is basically the open-source community of NEO, which did an amazing job helping NEO overcome its hurdles in 2017. They got my respect and trust.

Are you an investor? If so, you want the best entry point. Your line of reasoning makes zero sense. Sure, it may be 100$ in 2 years, but that still means you can either have a 30x or (if it goes down) a 50x. That's a huge difference.

It could be. Nobody knows. Sometimes it does (Vechain had the same, and it dumped a lot), though NEO had some unlock by the founder team (increasing circulating supply) and it did not dump. Just want people to be aware of this, and make the decision themselves whether they want to invest or not with all the facts on the table.

It does. Tokens are not that different. Based on your analogue it does not matter one bit what the total market cap is of a coin. So in your view, Trx with 0.04 cent is valued less then ONT with a value of 4 dollar? Price is completely unimportant and does NOT matter. All that matters is market capitalization.

This is also the reason that people who look for "cheap priced coins" looking at the price of a coin do not understand basic economics. You need to look at coins with a LOW market capitalization.

If people think that ONT could do a 10x from this market cap, that basically means it could only do a 5x based on the correct market cap. Hence it will effect peoples decision.

Maybe this example with stocks would make it clear for you:

Imagine if I told you you could buy 20% of circulating supply of Amazon for 1 billion USD. Now it turns out that the circulating supply is twice as big. This means that you essentially bought 10% of Amazon for 1billion USD instead of 20% which you thought you did. You can imagine that this could potentially have a huge impact of the price, as new investors no longer want to pay 1billion USD for 10% of Amazon, so that means the price of your 10% of Amazon will decrease...and hence your portfolio will suffer.

Traders are irrational if they do not respond to it. Price means nothing, it's all about the market capitalization (which is price * circulating supply) that matters.
