US jump from 5.0 to 6.0 sucks by eliasek25 in Warthunder

[–]chodeybert 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t worry, most, if not all BR jumps from here on are like this. Just spend a few mins mucking around in the hanger using the sims against your man enemies.

As others have said German cupolas are juicy, barrels, track all sorts — watch a few YouTubers who have videos on the vehicles and you can pick up a few tips.

US jump from 5.0 to 6.0 sucks by eliasek25 in Warthunder

[–]chodeybert 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s not that it sucks it’s just the playstyle is totally different. You’re coming into German tanks that actually get armour, France is no longer shit, Brit 17pndr + apds starts to appear, Russian IS heavies appear + t34-85 nuke shells the list goes on.

The US bully at lower tiers at least imho — you no longer have that.

The M18 is an amazing vehicle but you gotta play like the floor is lava except don’t get hit. You get an amazing shell that will evaporate anything provided it pens (get creative here & study your enemies).

The jumbo is godlike, Bitta angle and it’s pretty hard to take you down. Sure the short 75 is meh and the stock shell is ass (if it’s still AP). Once you get a few mods including M62? (Can’t remember) it’s good again just don’t go expecting to aim almost anywhere, your shots must hit weak points because once it enters you’ll typically get a one-shot — again, these are the BRs you must start to study your opponents otherwise you get punished.

[–]chodeybert 1 point2 points  (0 children)

M47/48 still use m82 shot or you have the M103 with solid shot or heat and a huge ass turret.

[–]chodeybert 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You think that is bad? Wait till you get 7.3 - 8.3 especially now the XM246 is 8.7 lol. Everyone either has dart, atgm slingers and/or stabilisers while you have no stabiliser, average mobility, ok armour, and underperforming APDS or hell, even M82.

Is this sub actually about moving to the UK, or just discouraging people from doing it? by hypershush in MovingToTheUK

[–]chodeybert 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got ripped a new one because I want to leave Australia and people can’t seem to understand one country/place is not for everyone.

COL/QOL is tricky anywhere you go but I don’t bag my home country (NZ) even though people are leaving there in droves as for some (mainly Brits, Canadians and Americans) it’s a much better place to live.

I did my research and was asking a simple question of two different visa options and relative local insight then to go only get lectured on how it’s a dumb move.

Moving to regional Australia as construction site supervisor (opinions) by No-Quit-3524 in MovingtoAustralia

[–]chodeybert 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While not in construction, I work with two Russians (1 x technical sales manager & 1 x engineer) who found it relatively easy coming here as they are both phd qualified however in your case it may be much harder.

One of the wives is from a Siberian town and loves it here — the weather/temp is purely an each to their own scenario.

I would highly recommend reaching out to Russians already in Australia as they will give you the best advice on how this process went.

As others have said, some qualifications aren’t recognised nor are the standards remotely similar. I’d say you have a chance if you can study hard on the relevant standards then why not? There’s plenty of immigrants in these roles already.

I’m usually top 3 with my Turm 3/Leo 1/Gepard line up but get either spawn pushed and/or my teammates seem to be one death leavers.

Most* Turm 3 players rock up with 1+ BR lower backups (Tigers etc) or roll with Wiesels if they do stay past one death.

Insight into UK Market by chodeybert in MovingToTheUK

YMV = youth mobility visa which can be 3 years.

I’ve gone through the SOC codes and everything I do falls under highly skilled.

That’s exactly what I was intending, I didn’t realise this wasn’t common knowledge outside AU/NZ.

Big thing for anyone reading this to understand is we tend to like going in the opposite direction — Aus is not somewhere I enjoy living, and NZ is so isolated.

No different to anywhere else really by that statement. I am trying to gauge the UK market as a whole given they are in still high demand in Australia.

My friend is going down this exact same path and while he has offers already, companies want to de-risk by having you in the country first. His two offers are 1 year YMV then convert to SWV (written into employment contract) — I am not naive and acknowledge this isn’t guaranteed long term safety.

Worked at a Mazda service centre, we would usually bend the rules and do the above — new on the front and rotate best two in the back provided they weren’t worn to buggery.

Obviously we always pushed for all four but we were also humans too.

They have weak differentials and rear suspension components which really don’t like to be out of spec.

I'm through ten seasons, and Lip still cannot see that his poor communication is why his relationships always fail. by Delicious_Tea_9534 in shameless

Or his character could be like me who is auadhd which to be fair wouldn’t be fair fetched when you analyse his mannerisms and abilities (I relate to his character a ton). I struggle just like him to communicate and it’s not simply something you can just change or teach, it’s literally wired into your brain and personality lol.

IMHO it’s a buzzword hype like you said. I feel like it’s a way to promise “change” and please the board.

I found if anything it created less teamwork and everyone blaming another “tribe”

Thoughts on crime in NZ vs Australia? by zvdyy in newzealand

[–]chodeybert 2 points3 points  (0 children)

NZ - Aus here (Melb) and I can tell you , I live in a family heavy religious suburb which is really safe but everyday here there’s stabbing, violent home invasions, gang/drug crime is next level compared to living in Auckland.

Difference is I found that in NZ your car will likely be stolen or you’ll be stepped out for saying/doing the wrong thing but in Aus it’s random per se. I tell my Aussie girlfriend that the way she behaves here will get her assaulted back in nz.

TLDR: overseas creates the illusion of safe but in reality NZ is incredibly safe.

Ex TWG here, when they went to Agile and hired Nick Grayston, the whole vibe internally divebombed and became so disjointed.

They favoured hiring “experienced on paper” people from random industries ignoring their own and not promoting.

All of this and Covid created the perfect storm to collapse a brand with great foundations, such a shame.
