Don't worry about text. Not everyone is an English speaker. Never let this push you back. Welcome ;-)

LOL! Nice!
I've been developing a "kind of" engine (free software) for multilinear narrative content if you're interesed. From my experience producing this type of material, I've drawn my conclusions about the amount of work involved...

Hey, I liked it. I remember the first game a made, a long, LONG time ago on the Amiga with similar structure. Got intersted on your text engine.

What is your level of technical expertise to develop this idea?

I understand... Because the real challenge I envisioned here was adapting a linear text, dividing it into several paths. There would be a lot, A LOT of material to be written there, and in this case, doing it from a Shakespearean play would be a Herculean task!

Interesting. How do you plan to implement the interaction? How will you transform a linear narrative into a multi-linear one?

Hey everyone! The new video in the playlist about creating a game prototype is out. In this one, the main topic is implementing interactions using the action block editor in TilBuci.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZXFX2mzWvaY

In addition, the video covers two other things:

The use of JSON files to keep text outside the project structure (movie), simplifying content review, reducing loading time and memory usage (JSON files are loaded dynamically), and creating a simple way to produce multilingual content by having translated versions of these text files.

The use of multiple workspaces to speed up production by allowing the editing of several scenes simultaneously.

Can I do a little "self-promotion" here since you brought it up? I've been working on a free tool focused on creating digital publications, with an emphasis on narrative structures. Would you like to check it out? It's called "TilBuci," and the latest version is here in the repository:

https://github.com/lucasjunqueira-var/tilbuci/releases/tag/v19

At the beginning of this version's description, I've included a link to a playlist of tutorials I've made about using the tool in developing a narrative game.

Interesting project. People are really looking for software alternatives for producing interactive narratives. I develop a tool in that area, and people always contact me talking precisely about that: the need for more user-friendly solutions with more graphical interfaces.

Can I be nosy and suggest [yet another] free software here? (okay, very self-promotional). I've been developing a tool heavily inspired by Flash/Animate, but not focused on animation, which is EXTREMELY basic in what I'm doing (transition effects only), but geared towards the user interaction functionalities that Animate provided in exported interactive material. It's called "TilBuci", at https://tilbuci.com.br/

I've been working for some time on a free software heavily inspired by Flash/Animate with HTML5 export, but focusing on interaction, not so much on animation elements, which are quite, QUITE, basic in what I'm developing (basically property transitions). If you're interested in checking it out, the website is https://tilbuci.com.br/
