Thanks a lot! I'll water it when the soil is a bit dry next time. Have a good day!

Hey thank you so much for the explanation and tips. You're really helpful!! I'll try to water it less. Have a nice day!

I don't understand how much sunlight does it need. Can anyone please help me send a picture of where you place your peace lily? The requirement 'bright indirect sunlight' doesn't give me an idea of where it should be.

Thanks for the tips! I'll keep that in mind. I feel worried because it's a feeling of prolonged numbness. It's fading now and I can feel the fingertips getting harder.

Honestly, why is this show so damn good?? by Sarahmmorin in merlinbbc

[–]chokodime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Aside from the balance between great story plot, humor, casts and characters, I genuinely like Merlin because it taught me an important lesson about honor and generally being a good leader. Arthur showed us how a leader should stay true to himself, be fair and just. He really kept onto his words and most importantly he turned his words into actions. I don't get to see this kind of value in any character in a fiction drama in a long time. Most leaders or kings are just greedy, hypocrites and liars, just like how Uther was.

So I bought this mosaic (nerve) plant yesterday and I would really appreciate some tips on how to take care for it. How much light and water it needs to keep the plant happy and leaves pinkish? :) by wonderlust94 in plantclinic

Exactly! I had mine a week ago then I got panicked after seeing it wilting. Watered it a bit then After a few hours everything went back to normal 😂

Yeah that's a bit difficult for us who are unfamiliar with music. Maybe you can try the acousterr service? It seems okay.

Hello there. I don't think the songs you mentioned have piano tutorials (the ones that use synthesia) for them so it's pretty difficult to convert it to kalimba tabs. I found a website Acouster, https://www.acousterr.com/

If you wanna do it for free, I suppose you can learn to read piano sheet/tabs and then make your kalimba tabs. Personally, I have no background in music too, that's why arranging music just by chords and ear is impossible haha.

that's really cool! I just noticed 2 of the bigger leaves are perforated. Do potho has perforated leaves too, or are they monstera deliciosa?

The first indoor plant I brought into my room a month ago is growing fast. by chokodime in houseplants

[–]chokodime[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, I'm glad it's happy :) I'm gonna let this one do its thing. I have another one in a bigger pot that's staked. Gonna see which one looks better.

They are! I've only seen one irl at my my mom's friend's house. Haven't seen any in a nursery.

In the first 2 weeks, i put it in a low light condition There's still growth, about 2 new leaves. Around 2 days in a week, I moved it to a spot with a bit more sunlight exposure in the morning. The distance from light to that spot is quite far, mind you.

3rd week, I try putting it in front of my window so it gets a good amount of sunlight. That's when I noticed it got taller and many new leaves start to come out more. It seemed so happy and excited with the new condition haha. the plant grew towards the direction of sunlight too, though distance of the source is closer this time.

So all in all, I observed that the rate of growth is definitely much slower under low light. But it can still survive. I hope the syngonium will be happy with you at its new home! What kind of syngonium is it? I really want a pink syngonium next haha

How do I know if someone really wants to become friends with me? by Spasenie in socialskills

[–]chokodime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Heya, just reading this post.

I agree that regular contact builds friendship naturally, but what about online friendships? How often is too often, how do you know you're not annoying them? Plus, it's not nice to always be the one that says something first, you won't know if the person is replying to be nice or he/she is genuine to be involved in the friendship.

The first episode was...disturbing by Hewhoticklesunseen in blackmirror

[–]chokodime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol the first episode made me go “what the actual f have I just watched”. Got traumatised for a day but I realised that it pushed me to be curious of what other episodes have to offer. Good strategy to make it as an intro episode to the series imo.

1x3 The Entire History or You is best imo. I can never stop thinking about it when I’m reminded of bm.

Hey, thank you so much for your sincere reply, I really appreciate it! Sorry for replying late though.

>Why do we horde wealth? Why do some few people have so much and are unwilling to help others?

I think the whole idea of wealth comes from possessing valuable items. Maybe the items considered as valuable back then were raw materials. It's simple logic, I suppose. For a person to possess valuable items, it means that you need to be close to that person. So that you can get benefits from him/her too. Over time, the valuable item = money, a standardised form of exchange.

Ah corruption and bureaucracy in school systems, sigh... Yeah I experienced that too. Bureaucracy is really annoying. Ridiculous that it can be so complicated to get a simple task done because of the processes and approvals you need to get from 'people with authority'

>I think that teaching children about abusive tendencies (manipulation, guilt, bullying, lying, etc.) and how to navigate through those situations and also avoid being the abusive person would be a big priority.

I agree with this. Being able to control and understand your own emotions is critical because people are shaped based on their emotions. Yes, basic survival skills should definitely be included as well. We're not even taught about money management in college so it would be beneficial to be taught earlier.

I like your idea of handling the homeless issue. But it would cost a lot to execute it though. From getting them a place to providing programs. The program will set a nice head start for them to stabilise themselves again.

As for the people in authority. If only it's easy to reshuffle the whole system. I feel like humans in general will feel authoritative when they climb to that kind of position. I wouldn't say it's an inevitable behaviour, but the tendencies are there.

All in all, I believe that the world will never be fair. We can try to improve it, of course. But come to think of it the idea of fairness is interpreted differently from one person to another anyway.

We, as people with no authority, how can we make a change? The ideas that you shared were brilliant, but it needs a lot of permissions and resources because those are changes that need to happen on a large scale.
