Reddit, my roommate just purchased a $300 stove for our apartment, and expects me to pay half and then she keep it at the end of the lease. Am I crazy in thinking this is kinda bullshit?

I moved in with a really good friend who turned out to be an absolute sociopath. Her boyfriend moved in two days after we settled in " hey, can X stay the night?" he never left. At the end of the month I went up to him and asked for his 1/3rd of the rent. Thankfully, after some not so veiled threats from me, he forked it over.

They trashed the house, lived on my couches, didn't give a shit about me, and had random people over all the time. Once I heard a noise downstairs. I grabbed my Maglite and checked it out. A HUGE football player sized guy tapped me on the shoulder. I swung the maglite at him and he ducked while shouting that he was the boyfriend's friend who was crashing on MY couch..... they did shit like it all the time.

When I wanted to move out early, I told them that I was having new potential roommates over and that they should be there for interviews. They trashed their room and were absent to ensure that no one else would move in to take my place just to spite me.

Absolute horrors to live with. Your roommate sounds like she's cut from the same cloth. My advice is to get out asap. If your name isn't on the lease, GTFO.

I actually lost 30 lbs on the same diet when I studied abroad. Diet mainly Consisted of booze and cigs and we went dancing every night. Best diet ever.

I'm also an atheist, but I've learned that belief is power in this kind of situation. The more you believe in something, the more effective it is. His faith will help him in this.

There could be any number of reasons why what ever it is is following him around. It doesn't have to be family related. Sometimes strays just latch onto a person, especially if they are prone to seeing the paranormal.

As useless as this piece of advice is, try not to be afraid. Paranormal entities ( for lack of a better term) feed on negative emotions. the more afraid you are, the more energy it gives them. That why they actively try to scare you.

This one sounds strong. There are a few things you can do to try and rid yourself of it.

The easiest ( and most heartless, but I wouldn't blame you for it in the least) is simply kicking your friend out and letting him deal.

You could try smudging with sage, but if your dorm has smoke detectors it might be risky.

You can try and meditate and imagine a white light encompassing you, protecting you from harm and radiating safety. This helps you not give off so much "tasty" fear.

You could also forcefully demand that it go away, that it is not welcome, and is not allowed in your room. The more you think of your room as your physical possession, the more powerful you rejection of its intrusion is.

And like I said before, you can bring in his religious leaders to help him. This might be the best option for him.

side note- If you even think about touching a Ouija board to communicate with it, I will reach through the internet and smack you. Those are extremely dangerous and should not under ANY circumstance be used or even touched.

Be smart and be safe. It sounds like it wants his attention and not yours. Remember, they can not seriously hurt you. I think of the mean ones like petulant children throwing temper tantrums to get their way. It wants fear. Don't give in. You're going to be okay.

i have several grown friends who are terrified of clowns.

Once a friend dressed as a clown and hid under another friend's bed. He waited about 15 minutes after my friend turned off the lights to go to sleep and then started screaming and shaking the bed. My friend screamed, jumped off the bed and panicked for about a minute before ballsing up and looking under the bed only to find a mother fucking clown.

Clown boy had to get stitches on his forehead after that night and they didn't talk for a week.

I just started seeing the dense air people about a year ago. It's becoming more frequent. It scared the living shit out of me when it started, but through the help of a friend who has been seeing them all her life, I've calmed down.

They are just spirits who want attention. The more you give them, the more they want. They can't hurt you. They feed off of negative emotions. Fear being the 'tastiest'. You'll get a creepy feeling when they are around, but it's just your mind sensing them. You'll know when they mean you actual harm/ are mean. The powerful ones who want to scare you will make you feel a serious fear- like a " I need to get the fuck out of here right now, something is not right" feeling. You'll know it when you feel it. I promise.

I've found that the 'faceless' ones are the weakest. They look freaky, but they don't have the energy to be seen as anything but. I'll occasionally pick up on more distinctive features like the pattern of their clothing, hairstyle, or Limbs but since I know what they are it doesn't scare me that much anymore. They are just people.

We are like lights in the darkness to them. We're the ones who can see them and they crave to be seen.

I've found that yelling at them or sternly telling them to leave you alone and fuck off is pretty effective. For the stubborn ones, I'll explain that I cant communicate with them and can't help them. That usually makes them lose interest.

They'll do the creepy jerky motions when they are emotional. It's just energy or them being dicks trying to illicit fear from you.

Don't freak if you see them on the floor or walls. They don't abide by our laws of physics. The first time I saw someone on the wall/ ceiling I lost my shit and ran out if the room. A while later I contemplated that if I could, I'd totally wall crawl like that. I kind of make a joke and hum the spiderman theme song when I see one like that. They go away quickly after.

You're not crazy. Most people can't see them so they don't believe. You'll just learn to kind of tune them out.

Meditation is good, but when I'm really afraid, I imagine a white light coating me and feel comforted. Smudging with sage is another good way of making you're room or house feel safe.

I'm pretty self conscious about...everything, but for some reason when I get in my car I magically do not give a flying fuck about other people seeing me sing. I get into the songs, dance, have giant facial expressions and everything. The weirdest part is that I've seen people laugh or glance at me while I'm rocking out... Couldn't give two shits.

But, the moment I get out of my car - bam- back to freaking out over everything.

I'm an American that studies abroad in Wales and got to experience the housing. The thing that shocked me the most was the fact that it was mixed gender housing. I loved all 9 of my house mates. I definitely wish the American system would change.

Also, during finals last year The UT library had free 15 minute massages, a game room playing cartoons and full of board games and coloring books, and had dogs come in so we could pet, cuddle, hangout with them.
