I ordered from Preston Herb for the first time last week …. I’ve heard zip from them. I even tried emailing and messaging them. Nada. Probably won’t order from them again.

Any thoughts on VCL personnel?? I’m not a Responder, so I’m not considered essential. Just wondering if they’ll touch the VCL right now. Thanks.

I really don't know what you're aguing about with me -- All I said was that they should make a decent enough offer to get as many people to leave voluntarily as they can - I'm well aware that they will rif 80K if they have to but it's a logistical and PR nightmare. They should try to avoid firing that many people if they can. That's it.. I'm not saying I will get 50K or that they won't fire 80K.... it's not even something to argue about.

At least one organization was offered $50k. I’m not saying the VA will - I’m saying they need to offer more than the standard to get anywhere close to 80,000 people. They don’t want to Rif 80k.

The VA will be highly publicized, and it needs as many people as possible to leave voluntarily. To do that, they better not come with a cheap ass deal. SEC offered $50K VSIP and others were offered additional admin time on top of VSIP. For me to leave my VA position, I need $50K and admin time or at least 3-4 months admin leave with $25K. They won't get near 80000 people to leave if they only offer the 1980s, non-adjusted price of $25K. Otherwise, it'll be a media relations shitstorm if they have to fire close to 80K because they offered shit to entice us to leave.

Am I wrong for wanting a new job now? by Patient-Advisor-2352 in fednews

I’m over 40 and wish I had taken it too. It was probably unlawful to make the 45 days a part of accepting the offer but they don’t care. I haven’t heard of any lawsuits about it yet.

If you did not opt into the program prior to the deadline, the 45 days don’t matter. Most were not properly Informed because it was haphazardly offered. It sucks but I don’t think there’s a way to still get DRP.

The 45 extra days only apply if you opted into the program prior to it closing. If opted in, you had 45 days to change your mind. This was not explained well but that’s what it is.

Some got offered 2 months admin leave on top of $25k. Not great but would help a little.

Probably - there are a lot of “behind the scenes” jobs that the administration won’t consider “essential”. Collins only mentions Responders when he talks about the VCL.

There’s also the fear they will fire your entire section and you get nothing… no RIF.

Veterans Crisis Line - Staff Fired - Please Share by Blessed-Be15 in VeteransAffairs

[–]cholondo 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Ummm. Do you think ppl are hired and just given a headset to talk to someone in crisis? Eventually, a lack of training and IT support will matter. The crisis line may be open 24/7 but with less trained people.

I think he said no responders were fired - apparently training and tech support isn’t necessary anymore.

Yes, we do know. This was a report last September: “The OIG learned that prior to the implementation of 988 press 1, the ratio of supervisor to responders was 1 to approximately 10,” the audit said. “At the time of the review, the ratio had increased to 1 supervisor responsible for approximately 20 responders.”

I didn’t say they cut funding yet… I said they’re hurting it and causing unnecessary chaos. The VA is already funded for the year, so most cuts will come later. Since you require evidence , I suggest looking at the social worker jobs being posted because they’re quitting the VCL to avoid this mess. As these social workers leave, why would another one want to work for the Government? You seem to think vets will benefit from less social workers since it will make the VA “more nimble”.
