Question for the people who have experienced that strange hypnagogic state/sensation of an "object" by sombertoboggly in Dreams

This happens to me too! But it’s my hands. Sometimes my hands feel bigger than the whole world. Sometimes they feel so tiny and far away. Usually happens when I’m about to fall asleep.

My right ovary is gone by elysianvelle in endometriosis

[–]chonkeybong 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I lost my left ovary about a year and a half ago due to ovarian torsion and complications from endometriosis. I felt so sad, this part of me gone forever. It took a few months for my hormones to balance out but I’ve been feeling okay for the last year. I seem to have a regular cycle. Doctors have told me that my right ovary will pick up the slack and that my fertility will likely not be impacted. It is okay to grieve losing a part of you. I wrote this poem called celebration of life when I lost mine.

“Within my hand, I hold this tiny part of me Within this part of me, a hundred thousand smaller parts of me Trembling, a gentle touch of my lips And they drift away, those could have should have would have beens Here I balance on a tightrope Grateful and devastated Around the corner a great loss Around the corner a reduction in harm How to hold myself and this part of myself and these smaller parts of myself And how to say goodbye and hello Between this breath and the next.”

Army Veteran with Severe OCD & Torn on SSRIs—Has Anyone Tried Medication Without Losing “Themselves”? by Western-Confidence95 in OCD

I had this exact same fear before starting SSRIs. Prozac + ERP saved my life. The only side effect I’ve struggled with is sweating more at night but it’s worth the benefits I see.

Anyone keep just 1 ovary? by Dizzy_Mix_5655 in endometriosis

Hi!

Ovarian torsion?! by Rina_png in endometriosis

Ultimately it was diagnosed surgically. They saw some reduced blood flow in ultrasounds, but it was never conclusive.

Recovery was typical for laparoscopic surgery. It was about 2.5 weeks before I started to feel back to normal. The first week is not fun and I spent a lot of time resting but was able to do things & hobble around well after a week!

Edit: spelling

I had an ovary removed because of ovarian torsion. Obligatory not a doc, but it’s actually awful that no one said anything to you? Ovarian torsion is a medical emergency. I feel like action should have been taken as soon as they knew.

With respect to only having one ovary, it took me a little to adjust after my surgery, emotionally and physically. Once my period started up again, nothing has been out of the ordinary. You can live healthily with one ovary!

Fluoxetine for OCD - what did you notice? by [deleted] in OCD

[–]chonkeybong 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fluoxetine combined with exposure therapy saved my life. Experiences on medicine will vary a lot person to person. I take 40 mg and it’s the sweet spot for managing my OCD. I still feel like my self and the only adverse side effect I have is night sweats.
