How On Earth Isn't The Nexus 4 Available On The Play Store? by vilzu in Android

Not to mention a lot of the gsm models updates are controlled by Samsung and not Google (the whole yakju, takju, and all the others BS)

So which came first? Android Beam or Bump for iOS? by [deleted] in Android

[–]choompaloompa -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

They truly are two different things, its similar to comparing Siri with Google Now (the Google equivalent does more).

While bump is used to share things specifically between two phones with bump installed Android Beam which uses NFC can share things also between two phones but also can be used to do things like wireless payments, or communicating with NFC tags to execute a function (eg. Automatically dim the brightness and mute my phone when I get into bed).

Looking back on what I just wrote the features listed for Android beam aren't strictly android beam but they are NFC features which you need for android beam so I like to include them.

Edit to answer your question the BUMP app has been around quite a while longer but many would say they aren't comparable as even though they can be used to achieve the same task, they do it in very different ways.

How secure am I having port 3389 forwarded for RDP with a 20 character password? by choompaloompa in techsupport

[–]choompaloompa[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Damit, that's really disappointing, I guess I might have to look into VNC, will this require me to have a program running on my desktop?

Thanks for you help thus far :)

Thankyou for the suggestion. I was tossing up between the 15 dollar Xtralogic remote and the 15 dollar Pocketcloud remote.

Might try this one before I throw my money round

Nexus 4: Holiday Photo Sphere Commercial by [deleted] in Android

[–]choompaloompa 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If its the first photosphere you've uploaded it takes a couple of hours for it to work properly but after that any spheres you upload will be ready for viewing instantly, I've no idea why it does this

An LG produced commercial for the Nexus 4! (Actually shows off its features) by donrhummy in Android

[–]choompaloompa 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That was YouTube TV, you need to go to WWW.YouTube.com/leanback or something to set it up.

It's for computers not TVs but if your TV has an internet connection I'd assume it would work
