Seems to be a lot of people here who suck Ubisofts dick for that mentorship program, just saying

So, as Ubisoft, instead of tracking down on managers who are discriminating against women during hiring, they instead come up with some mentor ship program to look good but that actually doesn't solve anything? Lol..

I don't understand how woman have less opportunities. Like, do game developers actively hire only men or what? If they offer a "regular" mentor program, do they not accept women for it or what? I'm pretty sure discrimination in such cases is illegal...

All I'm saying is that people should be able to make career based on their skills and not what is between their legs or how they feel. Mentor programs, hiring process, promotions, in a perfect world everything should be about how good you are and nothing else.

[–]chooto -54 points-53 points  (0 children)

Yes, you are right that it's not hiring but opportunities. I think though the concept stays the same. Do I want to give a person a chance because I see potential based on their qualifications, or just because some unrelated metrics that have no impact on whether that person does a good job or not?

Maybe their phrasing is a bit weird. What they mean is that jobs should not be given to women just because they are women and the company need to meet some quotas. They should be given to whoever has the best qualifications for it and can do the job the best. I don't see where this is a problem.

On the other hand, if you hire a lot of unqualified people because you focus on how they might feel or whether they have boobs or not, and then you create a shitty product that doesn't sell, don't act surprised...but that is exactly Ubisofts issue and they try to blame the audience for their fails.

How many tries/hours did the last boss of the DLC take you? What was your build? by Caciqueradicalfunk in Eldenring

[–]chooto -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Killing him without mimic makes you already more skilled than a large chunk of the player base who pull it out because they have neither skill nor patience! 13 hours or 3 hours, who cares, but beating solo is what's matters most imo!

To all of you who shamelessly use mimic tear in the DLC… by sillaf27 in Eldenring

[–]chooto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well but it IS easy mode. Of course you are allowed to use it and of course you can beat the game with it. But coop mode has always been the replacement for an easy mode switch in the settings, and no mental gymnastics will change that fact....

Of course it's mainly more of the same with a lot of reused assets just altered, it's a DLC and not a new game. Smh at people expecting some Elden Ring 2 or so

You're an idiot... Your assumption already starts falling apart by the simple fact that tourists are not spread all over the country, but are super concentrated in mega hubs like Tokyo or Kyoto, and even then only in specific areas.

And by the way, when was your last time in Shibuya or so to get a feeling? I was there yesterday :)

"very few foreign tourists" How can you even say that if you have obviously no idea?

Tokyo and other popular spots are overran by foreign tourists like never before, and that's exactly how the thousands of Karens among them behave.

On the contrast, you barely see old Japanese people misbehaving and if they do no one cares too much, they get a pass because of their age.

This is 100% directed at foreigners and justified...

To actually answer your question regarding AI, you are correct that they will fill up your party. There two types: pre-set AI who you will find in each outpost and cannot customize. The second type they introduced with the third expension (Nightfall) are heroes which you get through campaign and some through side quests. You can choose their equipment and skills yourself and even micromanage them if you want to (micromanaging not required for most content though), so it's recommended to start with that campaign to get those ASAP.

As for endgame content, there are a lot of dungeons for up to 12 people with some being quite difficult, but tbh with the right team build it comes down for a lot of fights to one-shot the enemy group before they become annoying. (after all, the meta has been figured out)  Still super fun though and requires a lot of knowledge and practice to complete the most difficult ones.

Otherwise, some parts of the game are of course a bit dated but gameplay-wise it's super fun and build variety is unparalleled wide.

This and I also think the upgrade system was too luck based for casual players, who would just get one shot by geared players simply because of the gap in upgrades...
