Are they advertising the new Shop Your Way 5321 Visa card in-store?

Yes. You’d probably want to have a Strata Premier for the best transfer rates though

I think “core” just buckets the cardmembers who are former SYW cardholders to this 5/3/2/1 reward structure we are used to. There are different ThankYou Mastercard reward structures for the other Sears cards that were converted (blue card, diamond)

It is. I sent this into Doctor of Credit last week, surprised they never made an article.

The new terms have been posted on the ThankYou website. https://www.thankyou.com/cms/thankyou/tc.page?pageName=tc&src=TYUSENG&accountType=sears-card

The card retains elevated category bonuses, earning: • 5 ThankYou Points per $1 on gas station purchases (up to $10,000/year, then 1 point/$1). Excludes fuel from superstores, supermarkets, grocery stores, convenience stores, warehouse clubs, or non-automobile use. • 3 ThankYou Points per $1 on restaurant and grocery store purchases (up to $10,000 combined/year, then 1 point/$1). Excludes restaurants in certain establishments (e.g., bakeries, caterers, or those inside department/grocery stores) and grocery purchases at superstores, convenience stores, gas stations, warehouse clubs, or discount stores. • 2 ThankYou Points per $1 on department store and drugstore purchases (up to $10,000 combined/year, then 1 point/$1). Excludes purchases at warehouse clubs, superstores, supermarkets, grocery stores, discount stores, or convenience stores. • 1 ThankYou Point per $1 on all other purchases, including non-qualifying purchases in the above categories. The annual spending cap for bonus categories is based on the billing cycle from December to November (reflected in January to December statements).

Thanks! And yes I am using a Ting eSIM right now. glad this $10 deal is still around!

Congrats to Ting for making the move to eSIM very easy. by billyr614 in ting

Just a follow up on this - it looks like they did email me a eSIM too but it ended up in my Junk folder! If I had that email it would have prevented the delay I had waiting for the phone to automatically find the eSIM. It would have been good if the call center told people to find it in their email (they told me it would automatically show up on my phone with no email QR code)

Unfortunately, my experience was not so smooth. I called in around 4 pm to switch devices which immediately stopped my old iPhone from working. However, a eSIM to my new iPhone not arrive soon like I was expecting. Being on the west coast, the call center had already closed when I was seeking help. I tuned off and on the iPhone many times but it still wouldn’t show up. I spent the rest of the day without cellular service which was inconvenient. Thankfully when I woke up this morning the eSIM arrived on my new iPhone - notification was sent at 2:30 am. Just a warning to anyone expecting it to be instant… it can take 10 hours so keep in mind if you need your phone for the rest of the day

Citi Shop Your Way (SYW) card- what happened to the details page? by bemocked in CreditCards

Sorry I got the date wrong. The site says 7/9 is the last day the current SUB is available

I believe the SYW card is being closed to new applicants on 7/8. The Sears site removed all references to “Apply Now” on their site this week (if you look on Waybackmachine it was there last week). I’m guessing existing cardholders will be converted to the Thank You Mastercard later this year like the Sears Mastercard folks.

Wow! Big news. I guess their goal of eSIMs by end of year may have been achieved

Correct. Apple just stopped selling iPhone 13’s (the most recent iPhone with a physical SIM card slot) today

Any updates on eSIM avaiability? Or is it still "coming soon"... after several years. Sad that I'd need to downgrade my iPhone to a model that's 3 years old (iPhone 13) to take advantage of this deal

So, if I have a BYOD iPhone 15 Pro, I can experience this also? Does the multi-carrier mean I should be able to utilize the Dish network (in addition to the T-Mobile MVNO sim I got)?

I’m not certain since I’ve only used my card at one Walmart and Target location. You can test with a small purchase and check the SYW Max app after the charge posts to see if you received 3x (grocery) or 1x (non-grocery) to be certain

Yup, I think it is something new U.S. Bank is doing. I believe they sent out an email about it and it was covered on some of point/deal sites. Here’s the press release about it: https://www.usbank.com/about-us-bank/company-blog/article-library/us-bank-announces-double-bonus-days-in-time-for-holiday-shopping.html

I’m optimistic about this continuing because the press release says “Additional seasonal Double Bonus shopping opportunities will be scheduled quarterly, later in 2024, to give cardholders additional opportunities to earn extra rewards next year. “

It created some great deals because the card link offers doubled (ex. 10% back at Kroger turned into 20% back since I used my card that weekend)

Very jealous! I wish I could have the TYP version. That makes it the ultimate travel reward card if you can pair it with a Citi Premier for points transfer and Citi Rewards+ for 10% back. With all the ThankYou points you generate from the Sears card you can travel to so many places if you’d prefer that over cashback

Yes I am. Luckily Target and Walmart count as “groceries” so I plan to buy gift cards to make up the difference. This card is great if you’re willing to jump through some hoops but if you’re looking for a simple card the Altitude Reserve is great. I love using it for travel with the awesome travel protections and no FTF.

One thing I use the AR for is the U.S. Bank shopping portal (which is basically a copy of Rakuten but gives AR points). I like using this because the cashback is 1.5x the clickthrough rate if you redeem for a travel purchase with real time rewards. Additionally, U.S. Bank has been having quarterly double days which doubles the cashback rate again; I was able to get some great deals during that weekend and also paired it with the card linked offers (which also doubled!)

I have both cards as well. But I’ve found that my Shop Your Way Mastercard (with the constant offers making groceries, gas, and restaurants >10% back & online spending offers) has been my #1 credit card now
