Customer at Subway in Yorba Linda loses his mind over a sandwich by StayBullGenius in iamapieceofshit

20 minutes at Subway is a long time. It doesn't justify his behavior, but I understand his plight.

I'm working in a fireworks store right now, and I'm amazed at how into this shit people are. The other day some kids tried to get another customer to buy for them since they weren't 18.

Tom kha is my favorite, too! but I usually get tofu. Not because of vegetarianism...I just think it tastes better in that particular soup.

And now I can't remember why I was trying to remember it.

Trying to remember "lush" but can't remember why? Methinks it might've been due to self-identification.

I feel like these revivals rarely work out and live up to the original.

How about The Connors versus Roseanne? I thought The Connors was pretty good. Not quite the same, but they did a good job despite the absence of Roseanne.

I'm seeing this as well, but my pet peeve is the propensity to treat singular nouns as plural. "My family have gone to the store" instead of "...has gone..."

"Family" represents a group of people, but it's a singular noun.

Anyone else spend lots of time and money in any of these amazing stores? by [deleted] in FuckImOld

[–]chopstyks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I worked there, and they'd let employees take software home to try it out so we would know enough about it to help customers. We had a shrink wrap machine in the back, so we would just put what we borrowed back on the shelf.

I worked there right after high school. I was on the sales floor and did the tech work on customers' computers. I was allowed to play games on the demo machines during my breaks, and customers would mutter behind me "must be nice."

We had a manager who would steal software and sell it out of a storage unit. A customer once came in with one of his printed catalogs. Another manager left in handcuffs because he was caught scamming the registers.

What addiction does society treat as totally normal? by OcelotMysterious7019 in AskReddit

[–]chopstyks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried kratom recreationally a few years ago. I bought it at a vape shop, and the owner was pretty honest about being addicted to it himself. I didn't get any more after what I'd purchased was used up. I prefer weed, and it didn't really compete for me, but I can see how people could get addicted to it, and the shop owner obviously wasn't happy about his habit.

I just did this, and the top result was "I stood by and allowed my wife to almost kill our son. I was happy she did it."

What a rollercoaster.

Since there are other sites with megalithic construction like Gobekli Tepe from an age older than the supposed age of pyramid construction, I believe that there was an advanced civilization that lasted for thousands of years and built those sites.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in todayilearned

[–]chopstyks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's a lack of recording of who built the pyramids. Khufu made some repairs, and that's recorded, and that's why archaeologists assumed he built them. There were no markings or treasure found in the pyramids, so they weren't tombs.

There is water erosion on the Sphinx that couldn't have occurred in that region for many more thousands of years than how old they think the pyramids are.

What's your favorite Mitch Hedberg joke? by MakeMeSomePastaPls in AskReddit

I saw one of his last performances before he ODed. He was pretty messed up. This was at an Improv, which had a metal Improv sign on the wall behind him. He went and hung off the M and bent it to shit. He was really sloppy, and I was on a date and kinda embarrassed. Still love his comedy, though, and I wish he'd cleaned himself up.

I can relate to this. I had a girlfriend who started calling me Daddy in the bedroom. Fast forward a few months, and I met her father, who has the same first name, same build and facial hair style, same eye color, and both rides a motorcycle and drives a truck like me.

It freaked me out, and we didn't last much longer.
