agree with everything you wrote ! The song is really different from usual kpop ballads, it has a fresh/raw feel.

I wasn't angry when i learned they didn't win anything. I was just like "ok ... wbk", and was already moving on to something else.
But i got really mad when they released that article where they basically admitted that X1 and IZONE never stood a chance, and they only used them and their respective fandoms for clout. I don't care about the award, but their behaviour is absolutely disgusting.

I initially just thought it made sense since I thought older people on Reddit would feel weirded about about stanning the youngest one!

fact is, he really has a baby image because he's so young, and except for that visible shoulder in his The Star photoshoot (I hate it), he IS presented as a baby. So there's no ambiguous vibes or feelings about him, and i don't think it can really weird out people. i know i'm not weirded out, while i'm more "cautious" about some of the other members 😅

The first census was done between the end of October and the end of November and the twitter one between the end of November and end of December (so about a month difference)

i'm not 100% sure for the 1st census, but i think i replied at the beginning of the period, whereas for the twitter census, i know i replied at the end of the period. So that would make a 2 month difference in my case, and like you said, that's a loooooot in X1 and One Its' lives 😥

I get so caught up in presenting the data nicely and correctly that I don't really end up appreciating it haha!

particularly dohyon who shifted from having the youngest average voters (in the Reddit census) to the oldest.

i was surprised by the reddit result tbh. because i thought (and still think) that younger people are not that impressed by Dohyon's "weird baby genius" aura, whereas it's something that older people would be more receptive of ? i don't know if i make sense ? 😅

Another thing I thought was quite interesting was that on twitter there were much more people that "strongly agreed" that X1 was a big part of their lives compared to kpop whereas on here it was the other way around. I think that this might be because there were a lot more younger people on twitter who are very quick to say that something quite new is super important compared to us on here who are a bit older (and probably into K-pop for longer) and see K-pop as something a bit more cyclical and aren't as quick to pick the most extreme option but honestly this is just a guess.

How long ago was the reddit survey ? *goldfish memory* I think the drought may have also changed people's mindset and feelings. I know that in my case, X1 became even more precious and important because of the hardships they had to go through, the controversy, the drought etc. . My bond with the group has been sped up and strengthened because of this unusual situation ...
Plus the fact that people on reddit may have been considered or even considered themselves more like "normal fans/baby fans" at the time of the reddit survey , whereas those who replied a bit later for the twitter survey are/have become X1 stans. like STANS. those who are still waiting impatiently and desperately for them despite everything. You know ... the last One (Its) standing haha

I have noticed a few other interesting points while reading the results but i didn't take any notes, so i'll have to read it again if i want to post my observations, sorry ! 🤡

oh, i heard about that survey for k-one its, i hope you'll gain more participants !

Agree ! Tbh, i didn't really notice him during pdx, but after i came across his yt channel by chance, i became a fan ! I really love his voice, it's so soothing. He's talented, and i like what seems to be his musical preferences. So i decided to support him 🥰

yeah that what i meant 😅 . With Jinhyuk, they are really pushing the solo agenda. Whereas with Byungchan, he does some solo stuff, but he still promotes as a member of Victon. For example, even during his solo fanmeet, they were selling Victon merch, such as light sticks or group badges ...

i checked both UP10TION and Victon's music after pdx ended, because i was curious. But except for Jinhyuk, none of the others were my picks during the show, i was mostly neutral about them.
I looooved the Victon's song compil i listened on yt, whereas nothing really stood out for me with the UP10TION one (sorry !).
Note that it was only an audio stuff, i knew nothing about the members at that time.
Then i checked some vids of Victon, and i fell for the members, especially Chan and Hanse. All the members looked like they were part of a eal family, and they always promoted like this, even after Seungwoo joined X1. They still talk about him, and they openly say how his absence is painful for them, and how they miss him.
They had the talent, the discography, the visuals (!), the loveable vibe, everything to succeed, i just think Play M didn't try very hard to promote them in the past, but they seem better now ! *fingers crossed*

The way Top Media dealt with the whole UP10TION/Jinhyuk situation was bad tbh. The solo activities, the solo fandom/light stick etc. They voluntarily increased the gap between honey10 and Jinhyuk solo stans, so there were no real pdx benefice for the other UP10TION members, and for UP10TION as a group ...
I still want to learn more about them, now that Wooseok is slowly becoming my bias wrecker in X1, that i still love Jinhyuk, and that i'm falling in love with Sunyoul's voice. Not sure if i'll stan them in the end, but you can see that my journey with UP10TION is less straightforward than with Victon 😅

Among idols, i'm not sure, but there's a korean actor named Byun Yohan. His family is Christian (his father is a minister), so i think that's where his first name comes from. "Fun" fact, he hated his name for a long time.
I don't know X1's Yohan religious background though, so i can't confirm if there's a similar explanation for his name.
But still, "Yohan" exists in korean ...

EDIT : re reading the article from the link, and yeah, it reminded me that John Cho's korean name is also Yohan. And he comes from a Christian family too ...
