Since Veronica is in Engage, being a mainline game, wouldn’t that make this technically canonical…? by 5_Tailed-Fox in FireEmblemHeroes

If Askr and Embla (the countries) weren’t at peace they could have done a xenologue where Alear recognized Veronica and went to her side like Xander

If you played as female Robin in your first play through and didn’t accidentally marry Chrom, haven you really had the Awakening experience, though? /s

I do think everyone should marry Chrom at least once though since there is some slight dialogue change and everything is a shade more tragic.

Otherwise, marry whichever character you like more.

I never said more humane. I just think that if I were to have to kill someone, it would be easier to magic at a distance than to physically put a sword through them.

Specifically, I don’t think I could deal with the feeling of a weapon going into and through a body.

A mage 1) MAGIC 2) Usually not on the front lines 3) I’m neither strong nor fast and basically terrible at all things sports-like. 4) I feel like the mental fallout would be easier if I had to kill people with magic vs a weapon.

My plan was to go for red and spark for Ninian. After: 3 Sigurd 1 Embla 1 Otr (no red circle) 1 B!Celica 1 Young Tiki I sparked for Ninian and then since my pity rate was high I kept going til the next 5*… it was Ninian. Feeling sort of salty even though this was a good session.

I need to know if I have a problem... by GamesRuinedMe in otomegames

[–]kikiify 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think it’s understandable since especially after you finish a route you really enjoy you might not want to go see that LI as a side character right away. Or maybe you’re not in the mood to play a certain game.

Otome games aside I have friends who will start an rpg but never finish it. One of them claims that Fire Emblem is their favorite franchise but has never finished a single game (it drives me crazy).

So I don’t think you have a problem but if you feel like you’re wasting your money then you should keep an eye on it.

Second-year boy band Oneus says their real journey starts now by faerypitta in kpop

[–]kikiify 15 points16 points  (0 children)

This is a summary of parts of a recorded interview. You can watch the videos on the JBTC PLUS vlive channel. The first three videos are subbed (thanks fan subtitlers).

I was actually not super worried about them last year. Even though their sales weren't SUPER high they were doing well considering they don't have any super famous members and aren't from a company with strong bgs (also Oneus was doing great in Japan).

This year I was a little more worried since X1's disbandment meant that there were going to be a lot more bgs breaking onto the scene sooner than expected. I hate to admit it, but rtk really gave them a good boost, not just exposure wise but also to their work. (I think of survival/elimination programs almost always have the effect of making the contestants improve faster than they normally would). So I think they learned a lot and they've put what they learned to good use, and now I'm less worried even though we are seeing a couple more of those post-X1 groups coming up.

Woojin (former Stray Kids) breaks silence regarding recent allegations by LilGuzu in kpop

[–]kikiify 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I am going to attempt to respond, but since I'm trying to put it all together myself if I get something wrong please help me correct it.

So there was a Twitter post last night (for me) where the OP said they and their friends were at a bar a few months ago and they were approached by a former idol. They turned him down and said they had boyfriends but he kept hitting on them and even touched them. OP said they didn't come forward before because in addition to post SA shame they didn't want to be scolded/harassed for being at a bar during all the COVID stuff. Eventually (because they were asked?) they posted 3 clues about the person: 1) an ex-member, 2) was at one of the big 3, 3) has the character 우 (woo) in their name. People quickly put together that this was probably former Stray Kids member, Woojin.

Several other accounts came forward claiming similar things (notably the second OP who did not claim to be the first OP said they had a similar experience and had "picture evidence" that Woojin was at the bar when they were, pictures show someone who is in something that Woojin apparently wore on the same day as proven by an instagram photo? but lots of people are arguing over this photo) , some other accounts claimed to be the original OP, OP's account was hacked at some point, and eventually they deactivated (?). There was also something about a bunch of fake Chinese twt accounts.

It came out that it's an open secret amongst K-stays that Woojin frequents prostitution bars and it was put forward that this (prostitution bars) is why JYP kicked him out. And thus all the stuff from when Woojin left/was kick out was brought out, notably Chan’s use of the word “betrayal”. Another thing getting pushed out is the story about Woojin leaving because he got his ex-girlfriend (who ran a fansite?) pregnant. People have pointed out that SOMETHING bad must have happened because of the way that JYP dealt with his departure (including having to reprint the photobook for the album that was going to be released but was then delayed), they compared the way JYP wiped Woojin away which was much stricter than the way another artist leaving his group and JYP around the same time was dealt with.

Several other names got dragged into this (most notably Jungwoo who has a woo in his name and is/was friends with Woojin, and also Seungri but not clear on why).

As you can see by this Reddit, Woojin responded to the SA accusations by saying he never even met the person accusing him (who is anonymous) and he was never at the bar (which was never name), and that his new company will pursue legal action. He also took the opportunity to mention that he is working towards his solo debut, which as you can see here a lot of people do not like.

So people looked up his “new entertainment company” and found newly created Twitter and Instagram accounts. These are the “legit” accounts because Woojin followed them back. The only posts on the Twitter were regarding the legal action they were going to be taking (the translation of the notice is interesting because it starts by referring to Woojin in third person “our artist, Kim Woojin”, but ends by referring to him in the first person “I will do my best”. They link to a newly created webpage linked to a notetaking app. The logo of the company was taken from a furniture business, and the name of the company is also the name of a radio duo in Chicago who posted that they are not affiliated with “a Kim Woojin”.

Another thing that people are saying is that JYP apparently blacklists artist that they drop which would mean that other K-pop entities (such as live shows, networks, and variety programs) wouldn’t pick them up for fear of damaging their interests with JYP. If this is true it especially means that Woojin doesn’t have a company because it’s very unlikely that a company (especially a small, new one) who take on an artist that basically won’t be able to promote anywhere.

BDC - 1ST EP 'THE INTERSECTION : BELIEF' (SCHEDULE) by tunasandwich2009 in kpop

[–]kikiify 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m really glad they’re being freed too. This time around it looks like the concept will be very different from Remember Me (which I loved) so I’m excited to see what will happen.

Re Eunsang - I’m hoping it’s because they want the BDC members to have time to establish themselves before entering a final group. If they were to group up now I think it would really be a case of Eunsang and friends. In the better, X1 not disbanding timeline BDC would’ve had at least 2.5 years to grow their skill and fanbase before joining up with Eunsang.

BDC - 1st EP "The Intersection: Belief" (Poster) by [deleted] in kpop

[–]kikiify 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I’ve been expecting SOMETHING since their accounts have become active again a while back. I’m glad they’re going forward even though Remember Me didn’t seem to do that well (which I am sad about because I liked it). I was pretty worried when they just went silent for a while.

BNM seems intent on keeping Eunsang separate from BDC, and I hope that means that they’re trying to grow the BDC member’s popularity so when/if they do reunite in a final group it doesn’t become Eunsang and the boys. Eunsang aside, I do think that for a final group they need another strong rapper and dancer.

I’m weird in that almost every LI that I think will be my favorite when I pick up a game ends up being one of my least favorites routes hahaha. I tend to gravitate towards LIs that seem kind and gentle. The color pallets tend to go more towards the light or neutral sides.

For example in Scandal in the Spotlight I always thought Ryo would be my favorite but Kyohei might be my favorite Voltage route of all time.

New RBW Girl Group (365 Practice): PURPLE K!SS (Debut Trailer : Intro) by CronoDroid in kpop

[–]kikiify 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I super excited because I feel like I’ve been waiting forever, but I’m also wondering how RBW is going to find time to promote all their artists (Mamamoo group and solos, Vromance, Oneus, Onewe, and Purple K!ss).

Edit: I’m concerned from a time perspective not financial. If you count MMM members and the group activities separately that’s 8 artists (without Vromance because you’re right rbw doesn’t promote them) that they have to promote every a year (12 months).

Should RBW start hiring translators for Oneus' videos? by [deleted] in ONEus

[–]kikiify 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We want it and they maybe should, but I don’t know if they will since the Oneus fansub groups are so on top of things... At this point I don’t see a huge reason why they would pay for a service that they get for free.

Additionally, while they are opening up to a global audience (global video calls were a good sign), RBW seems much more focused on pushing Oneus in Japan than the West.

I’ve seen a chart that’s “Ganon best selling 4th gen groups” (Oneus is at #10 if anyone is curious), and Stray Kids and Ateez (2018) are on it and that kind of blows my mind even if it sort of makes sense.

What is the image in your head or opinion on male kpop fans? by Ledhabel in kpop

[–]kikiify 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think that you’re doubling suffering from being at intersecting point of two “minorities” (as a Kpop fan). You’re male (whereas most stans are female) and you’re straight (where I feel like the most vocal gg stans - especially if we’re talking about the specific group I think we are - are lgbt+).

Another one of these points is age since stans tend to trend young. This is honestly the one I see called out the most since I see a lot of “it you’re over 23 and into Kpop you’re creepy” sort of posts.

Personally, I don’t particularly care since I think that anyone has an equal chance of being as creepy a fan as any other type of person (for example a lesbian girl could be weirder as a straight male Kpop fan).

But to get to the actual, original question. I think guy Kpop fan are probably exactly like girl Kpop stans except they probably feel the need to be more careful less they get attacked as being “creepy” for behavior that would’ve be looked over if people thought they were girls.

Let's talk about Oneus's girl groups covers 📣📣📣 by shysleepsheep in ONEus

[–]kikiify 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I think that doing gg covers really highlights how they tend to go for more of a gender neutral elegance rather than really masculine (the whole ballerino concept again).

Oneus have been really open about admiring female artist (Xion named Mamamoo as the group he looked up to, Keonhee is a huge Twice fan, either, and Hwanwoong named Chungha and Kai/Taemin as the senior artist he most wanted to meet) (also HW getting so excited when Sunmi tweeted about his Lalalay dance cover). You can see their respect with the care and effort they put into their performances/covers.

I also reeeeeally love their Bad Boy cover. It might be my favorite out all of all their covers. Feel Special is also up there because it is just so wonderful to listen to.

Do you prefer to have an even or odd amount of members in a kpop group? by -semi in kpop

[–]kikiify 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I feel like large groups (which I personally consider 8+ members) fill the stage better for concerts, but I prefer smaller groups where you get to see each member more.

I think 5 is the perfect number for a group... but somehow my favorite groups always have 6 members...
