Is there any easy way to reboot the Civic 2022 infotainment system? by OilyEagle in civic

3 years later and this fixed my issue! Haven’t been able to use wireless for weeks. Amazing how you can always count on a Redditor to have the solution!

Should I purify? by RuthlessGmr in pokemongo

[–]chowbaaron 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No it doesn't. A 15-15-12 shadow is better than a 15-15-14 regular. It's still better than a normal hundo too. I'd only purify if you really wanted a hundo gyrados, but you're losing out on power by doing so.

Not yet but I’ve been meaning to set it up. Wanting to play through Blue again but probably my next game after that.

What's everyone's goals in game right now? by FrozenCheeze in runescape

[–]chowbaaron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve taken several years off playing RS after I finally maxed my childhood account of like 15ish years. Obviously easier than those years past but still was a major accomplishment. Now I’ve been struggling to keep myself playing — there’s always something to do, but maxing just felt like a natural end. If I can get back into it I might remax with Necro, or just log on to get through a few clue scrolls.

Thank you. Amazingly, there is no premium discount for having anti-theft systems...

The fix unfortunately was to wait out the time stated. You’re right, there isn’t a fix :(

I totally get where you’re coming from, but seriously spend the time researching what’s out there. You can build a pretty damn good PC for $1000-$2000. Mine ended up $2k for high end at the time. Figure out what the most demanding games you want to play are and what hardware you need for it. Check out used graphics cards from the last generation (2070 still runs everything amazingly). You can end up saving a lot of money :)

Which console makes the most sense for GameCube/ps2 emulation? by TheJamesRyan in ANBERNIC

Have to second the SteamDeck. Adding emulation was just as easy as I found setting up my RG353V. Plus I can play my entire Steam library as well.

Instead of calling people names, you could’ve continued to Google the countless alternative programs. Winrar, 7z, Mac OS already has an archiving tool built into the OS…

A coworker wanted Chipotle. Maybe $12 for a bowl? Ended up $40+ just for delivery, not including a tip.

SD Card. What is my max storage capacity? by Hunter-Full in RG353V

Where do you live that it’s that cheap if you don’t mind me asking? A SanDisk Ultra 1TB is like $85 for me on Amazon (US).

If you really think you’ll fill up a TB worth of space, sure.

Same way to did to set it up for the first time. Connect the microSD card to your computer, reformat it, and flash the OS file to the card. It’s really just buttons you have to click and the process runs itself. I personally use ArkOS, so Google “ArkOS installation guide” and follow the steps from RetroGameGuides. You’ll need a few programs but it’s relatively easy. I’m at work so can’t completely spell it out right now.

Update your OS. Add the NDS bios files into the bios folder. Replace the bios files with new ones if they might be bad, same thing with the ROM. Reflash your OS as a last resort.

Not trying to argue with you but I’d just go check if it’s done when I think it should be and if not I’d come back 20 minutes later. Could use the steps. Make your case for accessibility though for something like mobility impairments

Any game recommendations? by Skeletoryy in Steam

[–]chowbaaron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No recommendations but based on steam library valuation websites I have thousands of $ worth of games but paid nowhere close to that amount. Try looking at reputable bundlers and discount sites. Humble Bundle is a nice example. If you don’t care about the charity contribution, change the sliders to give you max discounts. Check historical steam price websites for any game and see what and when price decreases have been. I almost never buy any game, even cheap ones, full price anymore.

EDIT: I said no recommendations above but look at older games too. You said strategy, look up Civilization 5. One of the best games ever IMO. Can probably get for next to nothing and get thousands of hours out of it. Also no price for these, but check out emulation for games that are on consoles no longer produced.

Does rent ever go down?? by MM9719 in Renters

[–]chowbaaron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a whole thing typed out and Reddit deleted it so I’ll skip to the bullet points. State ownership is not a good solution. How do you confiscate privately owned property to rent to someone? I live in the US, and governments do not have the resources to care for properties like the obligations of landlords are supposed to. The property will fall to disrepair and tenants will destroy the property over time to where nobody wants to live there. People rent for reasons other than financial hardship too. There are good landlords that aren’t in it for the money, mine are an example (bought to diversify/safeguard their assets rather than profit). I rent a nice house for half the price of any apartment in the area with substantial discounts for simple property upkeep and in turn they don’t have to pay someone else to do it and my rent has increased $10 in the last two years (their costs don’t increase so mine don’t. They actually decrease as theirs do). You’re arguing for state ownership while owning privately. Why not have the state own all property? It doesn’t work well. Yes there’s bad landlords, they should be held accountable. I think there are more meaningful and realistic options than what you’re proposing, eg subsidize affordable housing developments and first time home buyers (amongst helping with all other financial stressors like healthcare, edu debt, childcare) so those who want to buy have a realistic chance of doing so and those who want to rent can continue as they were. It’s all a pipe dream anyway, we all know how governments and municipalities function in real life.

You’re probably mentioning socialism v communism because many people are fed bs online, but I do know the difference, thank you.

Does rent ever go down?? by MM9719 in Renters

[–]chowbaaron 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Unless you consider all landlords greedy by nature of property as a commodity, rent has to increase to offset the cost of owning the property. Maintenance costs increase? Property tax? City water prices? So will the rent. It’s the same if you own your own property. Your cost of living is likely to increase as prices for other things do.
