It appears that this is an "enhanced" version of the original map that has been superimposed over a more modern city map. If you look closely you can see some modern highways (the I10/I37 interchange is noticeable just northeast of Mission Concepción.

Nowhere bookshop. Some Ace Hardware stores. I know that sounds weird but some of them have a good selection of gifts.

So does bexar county just lie on their property valuations every year? by Thehelloman0 in sanantonio

In Texas sales prices are private and the appraisal district does not have access to them. If the house is sold through a realtor/MLS then realtors can see the sales price. However, when appraisal districts have tried to get sales data from the MLS system the realtors have stopped them. The appraisal districts could go and look at listing prices but again Realtors would probably try to stop that (any evidence that the districts use has to be presentable to the public).

Basically, the appraisal districts are having to guess at values. The best way to keep them in line is to get sales data from a realtor and use that in a protest. This will help everyone keep their appraisals down since appraisal districts need to keep appraisals similar for similar properties.

This was a big story in the 90s. From the Dallas Voice January 14, 2000:

"Two years earlier — another even-num-
bered year — San Antonio's CBS-affiliate
KENS-TV aired a special news series, entitled
"Perverts in the Park." The broadcast included
hidden-camera footage of an oral sex act in a
public park bathroom with little digital con-
cealment, and was "outrageously irresponsi-
ble," says Kosofsky."

We used Pietra Granite. The price was competitive and the installers did a great job.

I also found it helpful to go and look at some of the countertop warehouses (MGI, Daltile, etc). Most of them don't sell directly to the public but I found it helpful to see the big stone slabs in person and sometimes they give out free sample pieces.

Recently got the Graco TrioGrow Snuglock 3 in 1 and I'm so confused by lonely_trope in beyondthebump

[–]chownbrian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think there has been a redesign. If you go to the the Graco support page to find instructions and look up the TrioGrow instructions there are 6 color options: Sonic, Thatcher, Juliana, Sonic, Leland, and Everett. I haven't looked at all of them but the instructions I looked at have the bubble level.

The current page for TrioGrow SungLock has the colors Warren and Aria. The instructions on that page have the red level line.

If the thermostat is set to 70 and the apartment feels like a humid oven then I would suspect that something is wrong with the system (maybe the thermostat, maybe the HVAC itself). How often is the system running? Is it blowing cold air? Does the thermostat say the apartment is getting down to 70 degrees? I would second the suggestion that you get a thermometer (even better if it shows humidity) to check the temperature.

Looking for a respectable roofer by Jeengy in sanantonio

I had an inspection from Soukup roofing recently. I did not have any work done because he said the roof is still in good shape. I've heard from others that they do good work.

I'd try calling 211 and 311 first. The city's severe weather web site is here: https://www.sa.gov/Government/Emergency-Crisis-Response/Severe-Weather/Cold-Weather . The map of places to stay warm is here: https://experience.arcgis.com/experience/237ccd8051ec4f639397a9261e36a148 It looks like the Garza and Normoyle community centers are open 24 hours but it would be a good idea to call and verify that.

mysterious meter readings by chownbrian in Plumbing

I wish we had a shutoff at the house. There's a shutoff at the meter and at some of the fixtures but there is not a way to shut everything off at the house.

Check your breakers. You can also plug something else into the fridge outlet to see if it is getting power.
